    I live in the country and it doesn't get better.

    Fireflies lightshow, summer sounds: crickets, bullfrogs, treefrogs, long days, being warm, cat wants out all the time, gardening.

    I live in Florida, so everyday is summer.

    But summers here are
    HAZY
    HOT
    HUMID
    HIGH ELECTRIC BILLS
    HOT SAND AT BEACH THAT BURNS YOUR FEET
    LOTS OF HURRICANES

    BBQ grill, hammocks, barefeet, riding bicycles,concerts,sunbathing,air conditioning, hummidity !!!

    Lots of daylight hours (I love that!), kids home from school, lemonade and slushies, trips to the library, staying up late and sleeping in

    Heat

    Boats & Campers (used to camp/fish)

    Swimming

    Lots & Lots of TV, LOL!

    1. Humidity followed by an afternoon thunderstorm then a cold front moving in.

    2. The sound of jet skis and wave runners and boats from my back porch.

    3. Finally getting local fruits and veggies.

    4. My rose garden.

    5. The smell of chlorine from my pool in the backyard.

    Just to name a few......

    Good post, since yesterday was the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year.

    heat and wildfires (We live in New Mexico)

    1. No snow to shovel and no ice to fall on.


    2. Apricots and strawberries in grocery stores.

    3. Daylight Savings time. (Love it)

    4. Milk Shakes.

    5. Don't like humidity.

    6.Wearing summer clothes.

    7. No coats to put on.

    8. Blueberry time.

    The lightning bugs

    The sound of a baseball game on the radio

    The sound of a lawn mower

    Certain songs on the radio like "Hot town, summer in the city, back of my neck gettin dirty and gritty"

    Thunderstorms

    2) Watermelon
    3) Cherry season
    4) When I go for a walk in the morning it's already 75 degrees.
    5) Walks after dinner in the forest with the evening colors and warm dry breeze

    Listening to the evening insect's 'orchestra'

    Longer days..

    Smell of the earth

    Spending time at our lake place

    Heat and humidity, storms and tornado warnings

    Seeing the first 'lightening bug' of the season.

    Music which reminds me of summers past

    Our families getting together...

    Catching fireflies in a jar.

    Fudgesicles (my cousin and I once went through two whole boxes of them in a day).

    The smell of suntan oil. Way back before the days of sunscreen.

    Beach Boys songs.

    White shoes. couldnt wear them before Memorial Day or after Labor Day. remember???????
