    In the Dark

    I cry, I weep;
    yet you are not moved, my heart.
    Deepest, darkest black;
    Where is the light?
    I turn, I look, I need;
    faith, peace, light.
    I cry alone-

    There is one, I desire;
    He must come.
    There is no breath, or light, or son.
    He must come.

    I breath in, I breath out.
    I wait, I remember.
    There were words, good words;
    But i've forgotten,
    Will i be forgiven?

    He has spoken life, given life,
    He promises;
    His word cannot be broken.

    I am broken; He gave
    Himself to be broken.

    He came for me,
    He waits for me,
    He breaths for me,
    Here-in-the-Dark.

    I'm not much of a poet, i just write from the inside sometimes. This is in my journal, from two years ago. After fairly good years, i crashed REALLY hard into relapse, and was having almost 24 hr, heart paplitations, "panic attacks", I think my hormones just went haywire!

    I was having a hardtime coping, and had a family to take care of, and all i could do was cry. I stuggled hanging on to hope, and my faith was really streched!

    It was God's hand that carried me.

    I went through a period such as yours. I called it my
    dark pit. I cried every day. Your poem is most
    beautiful, perfectly written to describe such a time,
    a place. You are a poet. A good one. Thank you so much
    for sharing. God is good and remains always faithful.
    He never leaves us or forsakes us. I wrote during that
    time. It's gut renching. I remember it well and thankful
    to God that He reached down and pulled me out. Bless you.

    Thanks for the encouragement and kind words.

    I discovered God is able to sit with me in the dark, and He hasn't abandoned me, like i had always thought.

    This was the one that I remembered so clearly. It really stayed in my mind.

    Would it be okay if I copied it - I'd like to keep it!

    Oh my... how I could relate to that poem.

    It is amazing what we can find in our journals.
    It comes from our most inner being...and helps others later!
    WONDERFUL

    Bless you.....Mari

    Your poem describes my feelings way too well! I can relate to how you are feeling.

    I keep telling myself that when I can't do anything for myself, thats when the Lord is 'carrying me', and is doing it all for me.

    Again, thank you for sharing.........you are in my prayers.
