Written in the belief that each one of us, however small our voice, is changing the world for the better for other PWDD.

    PAPER CROW

I saw a scrap of paper
I was sure it was a bird
    I saw the sweetest music
    No voices ever heard.
In my years at home in solitude
The sun's bright track I'd watch
    Making his rounds, diurnal
    In his lonely, glowing march.
    Now the leaves are swelling
    And new life's all around
    The little birds are chirping
In the nests, live eggs are found.

When may I fly free again
    And feel my muscles soar?
When can I touch the earth again?
    When can I have More?

I close my eyes in sleepiness
    I listen for the sea
The stone in my hand is captive
    A relic, just like me
    Severed from its homeland
    Alone and unafraid
    Soon to be a present
    For one whom I'll repay.
My ocean stone I'm letting go
To an old friend of mine
This part of me is safe to go
To the world I left behind.
    When can I give
    More of myself?
    When can I help
    Somebody else?
    When can I speak
    So everyone hears?
    When can they taste
    The CFS tears?
I'll try to make them know.
I'll try to make it show.
Give me please, a little more time
    I'll try
    I'll try
    To let it show.

Dedicated to all of us, who have chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia in a world that doesn't understand. When you tell people you have the disease, your voice matters. You are making the way smoother for all the young ones and old ones who will walk this path after you. Your words will echo, untill they find the cure.

Simply put as I am somewhat speechless - your words touch my heart and soul as I sat here with tears & goosebumps reading it. You must get that put in print somewhere! Well done girl. Well done.

Your poem brought my to tears... I have been searching for my voice for a long time with this... you are so right. We need to try to make people understand so we don't have to suffer in solitude. Thank you.
