    VESSEL

    I was a battered vessel
    beaten and worn
    how could God use me
    so tattered and torn.

    He saw my desire
    and filled me within
He said "I can use you
    in spite of your sin."

    The Holy Spirit fills us
    with His water and Love
    The water used here
    is the Word of God.

    Filled to overflowing
    enough to ladle out
to share the old old story
    of God's mercy from above.

Author’s comments: He is the potter we are the clay

    SOMETIMES IT'S HARD

    Praying for wisdom.
    Looking for release.
    Heart is so troublesome.
    Is there no peace.

    Sometimes it's hard to tolerate.
    Is there no reprieve.
I look to others to advocate.
Lord, I come on bended knees.

    Life at times so worrisome.
    How much can I tolerate.
    There is little freedom.
    I abhor this awful state.

    Lord, I pray for direction.
In you Lord, all is attainable.
    At your feet sweet devotion.
In you all things are possible.

    In prayer your perfect peace,
    No longer apprehension.
    In you I've found release.
    now I have determination.

In you Lord life is complete.
    Life once again is tolerable.
Peace I found here at your feet.
    Once again imperturable.

    When i read your poems
    i feel like we've walked
on the same path, where other
    feet have also gone,
    so we are never alone,
    but seldom do we meet
    another traveler, on our
    own path.

I sent you a message and it came back to me.
So glad we are on the same path going in the
right direction. Praise God. I deleted my
post on Chat for Christians. It caused so much
confusion and that was not my intent.
But in the process, we met. I've been a Christian
since 1975. A spiritual journey of ups and downs.
Learning and growing. God remained faithful even
    when I wasn't.

Thank you for reading my poems.

So true, Hangininthere, God wants fellowship. I read
what you wrote to someone else about putting time aside
every day for prayer and reading of the Word. God will
truly Bless you. It is your time spent with Him that
fills your heart to overflowing. I love my prayer time
and the study of His Word, but I'm not consistant. Your
consistency speaks multitudes to me. Thank you. I do find
that since spending time on this board I'm praying a lot more
and meeting people like you are an encouragment to me. I will
set a time for Reading His Word. I can't think of a better
way to spend my time. God Bless you.

Sorry that I mixed you up with someone else. Fibro thingy.
For most of my Christian life I read the Word. But it's
only been the last three years that I have begun to really
study it. Yes, everytime we read it ; it brings newness
of life. The Words speak to us fresh and a new. You
still encourage me my friend. Wasn't it you who wrote
John 1-4 and 14. I have one of those Bibles marked from
beginning to end. It is my treasure. It is torn and worn
but the Words are new every morning.

I will always relate John 14:6 to you, in my memory.
The Truth the light the way.

There was a time I read the 'Our Daily Bread'.
    A nice little booklet.

I've had my new computer three years now and we have
become good friends. I have been remarried 8 wonderful
years. My husband works at home in his office upstairs.
My computer is in the Library downstairs where I have
access to the Bible, the concordance and many fine
commentaries. No children as they are grown and gone.
I have no excuse. You will find that time again. You
have His Word hidden in your heart. You can't be in this
site without Him being on the tip of your tongue.
    Bless you.

I have no good excuse either. No one has really.
Good thinking on your part. Ear plugs are a wonder.
I use them when driving to keep down the traffic
noise. Good for you. There will be peace in the
    valley. Such beautiful words.

A beautiful song....One that my mom sang to us at
night when she rocked us in her loving arms and sang
all the great hymns, like the Old rugged cross.
Thank you for sharing the words of the song.

I think we all need lots of encouragement
    to start this week with!
