    Hi Friends,
I'm curious - those of you who had a sleep study with results of numerous sleep arousals (without apnea):

    1) How many 'sleep arousals' per hour did you experience?

    2) Were the sleep arousals before/during/after all sleep stages?

    3) Do you or does your family have a history of heart disease, hypertension, heart attack, stroke

    My answers are:
    1)36 an hour
2)before, during all stages, and after
3)My brothers and I have high blood pressure and 3 out of 4 of my dads brothers (inc. my dad) all died at 59 of a heart attack.

Obviously I'm living w/extreme fatigue. After two sleep study's - my doc's are suspecting obstruction in my airway caused by excessive soft tissue - so I am scheduled to see an ear/throat/nose specialist to determine if surgery is needed.

This topic is really important to me because studies have shown this type of disorder can directly be related to the heart problems suffered in my family. I'm thinking of convincing my brothers to have a sleep study done to see if there are similarities...and possibly, God I hope, find the reason behind our family's demise.

    I sincerely appreciate your reply!

I had 2 of them. The answers to your questions are:

    1) 44 an hour
    2) Before, during and after
    3) No history of any of the listed.

I have a small amount of sleep apnea... but can't afford the cpap as my insurance does not cover it all. so right now I am teaching myself to sleep on my side as the sleep apnea does not occur when I'm on my side. But as you can see with the 44 arousals, I don't really sleep much and I also had probably 5-8 full awakenings an hour. Fun times. Gotta love this Fibro crap.

Good luck to you and best wishes!
