    It's raining, it's pouring

He went to bed and he bumped his head,
And he couldn't get up in the morning!

Don't forget to take a peek at the end of #533.

Spring was telling us how to soak in salt.

    Goatie is planning a trip.

    Granni is gardening.

    Rock is being punny.

Mr. Bill hasn't stolen any cookeis.

Julie is still on her anniversayr honeymoon.

Whoo boy! A body can get lost easy on this here porch!

I like the rain. I do hope it cuts the humididity. Seniors and little ones will be able to breathe easier.

Today's plan: Clean the kitchen, clean the bathroom, do laundry.

Will report later how well THAT went. hee hee hee hee hee

Here's another joke from my new joke book.

WHAT IS A PLUMBER'S FAVORITE SONG?

    "Singing in the Drain".

Teacher - Good luck on your cleaning, etc. today. I was supposed to weed however DH turned on the sprinklers and so will have to wait till tomorrow . Don't want to have to go play in the mud although it probablywon;t be to muddy for to long with this hot sun. Let me know how much cleaning you do he he. I am the same way, procrastination queen on housework !!

Spring - thanks for the info on the bathing is salat. Sounds great but not sure I will actually get the gumption and info to try it. Maybe !! Sorry to hear that you grew up with alcoholic parents and siblings. That can cause such havoc in one life- esp with parents and family you cannot escape it completely,

Went to the store with DH and he got himself some shorts in Sams (great prices) so I went and looked at some jeans for myself. I got myuself a pr and a top. The problem with Sams is that you are really not supposed to try things on. However, I snuck into the bathroom and tried on the jeans ana pr. of capris. The capris were to small even though the same size as the jeans. You ladies understand about the trying to gets jeans or pants and their crazy pant sizes. Different brands and cuts can drive me nuts. I can wear anything from a 6 to a 12. Figure that one out. Actually more of a 10, I would say. I bought a 12 and it was to big so I tried to shrink it. I shrunk it a bit but not enough for me. Also got a cute top . They have brand names at very good prices it they happen to have your size. If I didnpt have to end it back I would have brought it back. Tha t is the problem with buying on line - great sale though , took a chance.

I jut got the jeans and the top in a med. since it was all or mostly cotton. I am so much smaller up top than my bottom half - geez - what a pain !

DH went to hit some golf balls before lunch so I am here checking out the Porch.

Hope GEORGIA is having a good time on her trip to the mountains!!

Teacher P.S. - I love that Singing in the Drain joke :)!! Try and keep smiling, rest some and maybe you will feel like doing some cleaning. Washing you have to do unless you have enough clothes :)!!

Hope everydobby has a wonderful weekend coming up. Missing all our MIA's too !! It will be quiet here and going out to dinner with friends tomorrow night, to a much cheaper restaurant than we went to last time. Trying to save some money with this awful economy. Who knows what is going to happen in the future - groan.

    Love to you awl,

You must have been posting about the same time I did, so I missed you. Glad you had a nice little day to yourselves. That is wonderful . Yes that is very hard to do esp when you have so many responsibilities and when the kids leave there will be no one to take over for you with your parents. So get away while you can . I'm so glad you got a chance to do so. How old are your parents? Of course age means nothing if they have health concerns.

Enjoy visiting with Amy and Clinton when they come. I know you will, even if you miss Kiera :)!!. Can't remember everythig you mentioned in your post. Sorry ! Come visit when you can I know you have so little time now that your parents are needing so much help and guidance.

    Have a wonderful weekend !!

Love to you and eveyone else,

Here's hoping everyone as a fascinating weekend. Going on trips, recuperating from trips, visiting friends and family, raising flowers, eating cookies.

Didn't get my house cleaning done. Spent the day trying to get my dad in to see a doc about his knee.

He fell off the bottom step in the basement right after Memorial Day and he JUST decided that MAYBE he should get himself checked out.

    <sigh>

I told them THEN to call the doc. But since nobody listens to me.........

    Anyway.

His regular doc couldn't fit him in so she told him to go to urgetn care and then she'd see him on Monday.

The closest urgent care to them is the hospital ER, so off we went.

Two hours later he still hadn't been seen. The nice lady at the desk said they were full and working as fast as they could, but as of that moment we were looking at over a five hour wait.

I couldn't ask my diabetic parents to sit there that long, eventhough I know the staff is kind, so I thanked her nicely and stuffed my parents back in my car, carried them across town and went to an urgent care near MY place.

An hour later, he had been looked at, x-rayed, and given a prescription.

Took all day to learn that he has a sprained knee.

There was a bonus in all of this.

Dad offered to buy dinner anywhere i wanted to go so we went to the Outback.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that place. Especially when someone else is paying. hee hee hee hee

Sourdough bread, salad, grilled salmon, steamed broccoli, ribs, grilled chicken topped with mushrooms, bacon and cheese, loaded baked potato, strawberry lemonade, water with lemon.

No. I didn't eat all of that by myself. That's what ended up on the table . I did taste the salad and the salmon. Don't like broccoli so that was safe.

Cheesecake with chocolate syrup, carrot cake, and a brownie sundae to go.

Sister was sick yesterday, but she sure was glad to see the leftovers come through the door!

Stopped at the pharmacy to pick up his medicine and dropped them home.

Beat the rain home and was in bed early.

Oh! I forgot about the entertainment at ER. Let me post this and I'll be right back!

    Ok, I'm back.

There were several people sitting there and everyone was chatting nicely to keep themselves entertained.

    People were coming and going.

All of a sudden, this one sick guy jumps up in between these two dudes and a lady calls "Security!"

Security didn't run into the area, but they were there in a timely fashion. They didn't want to panic the small children that were playing quietly in the corner.

The first officer on the scene joined the patient in separating the two arguing men and escorted one outside while the patient detained the other inside until the next officer came in.

    Long story short?

    Baby-mama-drama.

Girlfriend had three children. Two belonged to Outside Guy. One belonged to Inside Guy.

Outside Guy didn't like her being at ER with Inside Guy with HIS children. He doesn't like Inside Guy.

Inside Guy didn't like being insulted by Outside Guy.

I'm not sure but there seemed to be a threat that Outside Guy had a gun on his person.

Four officers later, both guys and the mama were outside.

    Comments from the inside:

"How stupid. Come to a hospital to fight."

"Ha ha! The police want to see his ID (outside guy) and he's faking that he can't find his wallet."

"Dumb. How you gonna fight with babies in the room?"

"Driving around in a convertible with the top down and no driver's license is child endangernment. He's gonna get in trouble."

    "This is better than TV."

The police were there by then, called his car in to check him out and then let him drive off with his two kids.

Inside Guy and Mama came back in and peace reigned once again.

That's when I learned that the wait was getting longer and we left.

I'm sorry to report that since we left, I can't tell you any more that happened there.

    So.

On to the joke for the day:

What grade did the little lobster get on his math test?

    A sea-plus.

I am finishing my breakfast as I type :)!! DH is out playing golf and I need to finish and get dressed and go outside to weed (that I didn't do the other day). I need to hurry or it will be to hot soon.

Teacher - love your stories and jokes. Geez - I haven't heard It's Raining, It's Pouring poem in too many years. Brings me back to my youth - sort of (to many years ago) . Nothing like going to the ER to have a fight esp with the little ones there - really stupid for sure. Wondering if that one guy got picked up for no license , etc. etc. HMMMM! Lots of stories in the ER !!

Hope your dad's knee is fine soon. ( think it was his knee) Glad you helped him get it taken care of.

Well, I need to go for now and get dressed and outside - groan - notmy cup of tea for sure, with my aching body. Have a great weekend.

    Hugs and love to everydobby,

Well, the (I've typed two words and had to set the font
    3 times. Oh, the humanity!)

Anyhoo, the film people have gone at last! Up until last year,
they would usually film for 3 days. You couldn't park on
    the block they were using.

Last fall they started expanding. This time they tied up
six streets. Either no parking at all, or parking on only one
    side.

And here's the kicker. Parking was restricted for ten days,
but they only showed up for 3 of them.

I did a little checking on film permits. The fire dept. charges
$282 per day. If you're going to have pyrotechnics the fee
goes up a hundred bucks. And the city of LA charges $422
    for a 2 week permit.

And they are extra expense like the catering truck and the
security guards. No wonder films cost so much.

Of course the real reason they cost so much is the insane
amount the stars get. But since no star can guarantee a film
will be a hit, why are they paid so much?

Teacher, you sound positively exuberant. "Exuberant" is from
the old French. As in: Fifi sat around on her chaise lounge
sipping champagne and smoking a Galloise while she
and her poodle listened to Edith Piaf exuberantly sing
    Hymne a L'amour.

Glad to hear you had a nice outing w/ Den, Julie. I hope
you are able to fit in a few more naps now and then. Thank
    you for your kind words.

Granni, are you talking about Sams Club, that relative of
Wal*mart? You can't try things on? What kind of marketing
strategy is that? Where I shop (the thrift shops), I always
try on shirts and pants. This shows it pays to go to the
    better stores.

Today is chiro day plus our usual visit to the market, the
bank, the library, etc. Somewhere I have a grocery list.

How nice to see everyone perking up and coming in and stopping to chat!

Its beginning to feel like the old Porch; tho the Porch is nice to visit at any time.

Teacher - thanks for sharing your adventure at the hospital waiting area. Who
would have thought? Feel sorry for the kids tho. Kids should never see their
parents getting nasty that too in public and they should never have to see
thier parents being escorted by police. That kind of sinks into ones psyche
and stays with you when youre growing up. Not good at all. God bless those
    lil kids.

Ive just heated my din din in the microwave and wondering if i should eat it
now and have to rest (i just know that once i consume food i will feel exhausted
afterwards) or should i tackle some chore and then eat? Or should i give in
and tuck in. Theres some lovely tomato cilantro green chilli chutney to go
with the potato and meat curry and rice with spinach.

well maybe posting this post will be my chore and i will eat after all. I went
to the mediation session today and also they gave a lecture on
'attracting prosperity'. Ah. Nice topic. Of course it said one has to tithe,
tithe, tithe. Because a lot of factors have gone into the money we make
and we have to give back. Also said to frame our thoughts in positive ways
always. No saying i dont have. Say i wil have. Im just motivated because the
people who give these lectures are doing well themselves and they dont get
paid to lecture. Rather they spend more time than most lecturing and yet their
businesses work seems to take care of itself, like one teacher has a business
partner who doesnt mind taking on extra to let his partner go out of town and
    lecture.

Its basically the Secret principle i guess.

Sons friend had come yesterday and left a movie ticket for Xmen the latest
one so he went out with him today. Found out he spent as much on the snacks
as friend did on the tickets. so it was even steven. When i was asking son
why did he have to spend so much on snacks, (I was reimbursing him) he said
Mum. "Its Pujan. You saw how large he is. You dont calculate the normal amount."

Well, that was true. Lol.This friend is known for eating a lot. Once sons friends
had come over, and my daughter made a chocolate torte. This friend (he was
like 13 years old those days) got greedy and took two LARGE slices,
Unfortunately while mixing the cake, the recipe book pages had turned on their
own unknown to daughter, so she used different ingredients than she was
supposed to and the cake became SO bitter. Pujan kept sayng "but this cake
is bitter. " No one could eat it.

    Got to go now.

    God Bless

Spring Water - that was funny about your daughter and the cake. Hmmm, wonder who turned the page in the recipe book? Could it have been her brother :)!! Poor girl probably couldn't figure out why the cake tasted so bad. Also your son's friend who ate so much at the theatre :)!! Those young men can eat alot anyway ):!!!

Rock - They say you are not supposed to ry on clothes at Sams as they have no dressing room. I am sure I am not the only one who has snuck it into the ladies room to try on first. I am sure they are afraid of some sneaking the clothes into a bag or something to steal and not pay for it. They have some great prices on their clothes, name brand stuff for much less. You can hardly go by sizes any more especially ladies jeans, capri's or whatever pants.

Teacher - How are you coming along in your house hunting? Do you have a lease now and if so when does it expire?? Hoping you have some time before school starts again. Moving is such a pain literally.

Thinking about everyone and all our MIA's. Miss you all !!

I was singing to help Goatie and her friend get up the mountain.

Iffen I'd knowed that you were goin' to chiropract yourself today, I'd-a sung "Dem Bones" in your honor!

I'm glad you think I sound exuberant. I AM feeling much better today.

Spring - Tell your daughter that cooking something "wrong" and feeding it to someone is a good way to keep them from nagging you to cook for them all the time!

    hee hee hee heee

Granni - My lease is up in August. I have a couple of places that look interesting and five more to take a look at. I'm supposed to talk to my guy on Monday and we'll go from there.

Can't talk to him this weekend. His wife had surgery on her hand on Friday and his little princess had a piano recital today. I think he's a little busy right now.

Julie - I'm glad you and your hubby had a nice little get-away. Youse need to do that more often.

While you were away, I was thinking. (don't say it, I already know)

Is it possible for you to request respite care in your area? Even if it's only twice a month for 24 - 48 hours, it would give you time to refresh yourself and have an occasional date with your sugarpie.

Not trying to get in your business. Just thinking out loud.

Baby is a brat. Sent me a message that she wasn't trying to hurt my feelings when she told me that I was whining. She was just suggesting that I stop whining.

Don't that sound like a LOVELY apology?

    NOT!!!!!!!

So, since she's going to act high school, so am I. I'm not speaking to her!

    So there!

    hee hee hee hee hee

Good thing tomorrow is Sunday. I have a feeling I'm gonna need some good old-fashioned preachin' to keep me out of getting into more trouble.

    Kisses!

Oh my so much going on today and a lot of it not good. First my computer wouldn;t work and couldn;t get the server to connect so had to call our server who told us a few things to do for future reference. Put out the dark plu on the left from the motem and keep it out about 10 seconds and put it back it. Well, yay it worked. I have so manythings on line I need to do including getting the reservations on line for our Ladies club and have to turn them in. It used to be phone calling but now I am e-mailing, so much easier - that is when the people actually check and answer their e-mails :)!!

Got that straightened out. Then got a call fro our friend from Ill. who we had met quite a few years ago on a European bus tour and have been friends ever since. This year in Feb. we went on a wine tour in the TX Hill Country with them and another two couples and had a great time. Well, turns out that her husband just didn't wake up in the morning today (I think). He had been doing so well after his heart surgery a couple months or so ago I think. I am guessing it is a heart attack but he had the surgery. I don't know what happened but at least he didn't suffer any apparently. He will be cremated so there will be no funeral. It is to far away for us to go . Luckily also his and their family are close by and she had a lot of friends. We were so taken back and shocked to hear it. We are so sad about it. Will try and send lots of prayers to her and the family.

Julie - I read about you first on FB. So sorry to hear that you are so sick. That reminds me especially when we lived in LA years ago and all the kids (4 at that time) were still young. I got sick and waited till the last hour to go to the doc as usual (some nurse I am on myself). I had 104 fever and I went to the doc and she threw me right into the hospital. No way this gal was going to stay in bed with 4 kids at home. I was in the hospital for a week and actually could have stayed in longer. I had an IV in my arm the whole time with antibiotics. That was before they had the strong oral antibiotics they have nowadays.

I know you need to rest more and so do you but what do you do when you have to pay for extra help or take it out of your pay for being your parents caretakers, to give you a break. It is so hard when you are not rich and have lots of money to just use for such things. I didn't have it either. Right now you are lucky for you kids being fairly close by but I know that will change and you need to start thinking ahead. I am not sure I know what to tell you. No one wants to have to put their parents into a home of any kind unless they have lots of money and the homes are really lovely. There are some I know that I have seen when we go to perform. Unfortunatly, there are many others that are much cheaper but (still not cheap by any means) where you really wouldnt want to put them either. Oh it is so difficult.

I know there are a few out here that are like small homes that only take a few patients that are great but not sure they are to cheap either. Like I mentioned in FB if you could perhaps sometime find someone that would come into the home that might not be as expensive. You might want to think of that for later on, keep looking in the paper ads, etc. I don't envy your having to make that decision at all. We finally put my FIL into a nursing home and he passed away after 3 days, fro AZ and complications, wasn't eating etc,. Glad Lindsay is there to help you. Happy birthday to Amy tomorrow !! Try and rest and get well ! Sometimes that takes awhile unfortunatly. Hope you can get some cheaper meds. I know how expensive they can be. Unfortunatly we have some drug. insurance but don't know how long we will have it if DH's company cancels it due to the new insurance plan that maybe going into effect. Geez !! There goes my hi b/p again :)!! Hope you can get some generics.
I already chanaged two of my hi priced meds to generics for b/p - luckily they are working (sort of unless it spikes occasionally).

Teacher - Kids, can't believe her apology ! Yep, she needs to mature some and grow up and hopefully someday soon she will understand what all you have done for her through the years that you did not have to do. Enjoy your weekend. Did you do nay house hunting this weekend? Guess you have a bit of time since you are off for the summer. However, you probably want to be moved, I am guessing before school starts again, am I right? Good luck and hope you find just what you want.

Hugz and love to all inc al those MIA !!

Julie - sorry to hear you are down with the flu like things! You get it pretty often
and the little ones also so i was wondering could it be something in your home? Mould?
or some chemical which causes allergy? Some of Dens chemical stuff in his tool box?
Because it really does seem you are so susceptible to this stuff.

Of course the stress of your parents both needing care is lowering your immunity too
    at the same time.

I remember when my daughter was a baby after i shifted rooms during winter, to the room
which had this synthetic mattress, she would come down with a fever cold all the time.
it was so distressing. i was feeding her antibiotics all the time. then someone gave me
a parenting magazine, which said formaldehyde in foam mattresses could be allergic to
kids and make them sick. so i made a cotton mattress and used that and sure enough the
    chills, fever stopped.

it was funny because she was only 20 days old or so and she would be burning with
fever and dh and i would panic and take her to hospital at 1am! and when we reached
hospital she would not have fever, would be wide awake and full of beans and and
looking normal so the docs wouldnt know what was wrong.

Granni – sorry to hear about your friends DH. What a sad piece of news.
Don’t let your computer give out on us! Cant have you off the porch. Glad
You were able to fix the problem.

You really do keep active with the choir and dancing and clubs and all.
Haa the weeding got under control?

Teacher – I want to chiropract myself too! I love having my bones rattled.
Never got up the nerve to go get a massage outside or chiropractor, not many of those around here. Once I went into a little massage parlour located in the touristy
Side of town it said herbal massage and I was feeling down, so…but when I
Got there, there were these very young girls all dolled up and no aprons
Nothing, and just a bed nothing else, and when I asked if they did massages
They looked at each other and didn’t say anything immediately, then a light
Bulb flashed on inside my fatigued ole brain(!) it wasn’t the kind of massage
I was looking for, and I wasnt the kind of client they normally practiced on.
It was ‘that’ kind of massage, and they were expecting only men. Boy did
I get out of that joint fast! I didn’t want no ‘massage’ there! No sireee, not
By the hair on my chinny chin chin.

How is your daddy doing by the way?

Rock – the kind of movie budgets they give out make the mind boggle!
Even in our Indian film industry, one heroines dress can cost up to
20,000 US$dollars!!!! Isnt it sick, the divide between the haves and have nots?

Its crazy. Did you have a nice chiropract? I like this word. Im practicing it.
How does one pronounce it? Is it ch as in ‘chair’ or ch as in ‘chameleon?’

Yesterday was an awful day. Bit of drama with my older brother re finances.
And some other things weighing on my mind re others. I was so down. Very.
And agitated. Felt life wasn’t worth living.

On top of that I discovered I”d left my hold all bag which I just got for
My birthday I had left it at the supermarket the other day and when I went
To get it didn’t find it.

Rang twice after that. No luck. So so angry with al the stuff I was losing, have lost.
But during evening I gained some of my equilibrium and energy, got up
And prayed I would find it, and then I went and caught hold of one of the
Supervisors and he came out and started making enquiries and sure enough,
It was kept in one of those lockers ( I never keep my bag in the locker).
I was so happy. I had my umbrella in it, and more important, a little book
    By Master Choa Kok Sui.

This morning a little better. I went and sat under my mulberry tree.
At 6am. It really does wonders. Im feeling much better and calmer.

    God Bless

Well, it was a day like all days. Filled with those events
that alter and illuminate our times. And you were there.

    Who said that?

Anyhoo I washed the dishes and did laundry and took care
of Zippy and made tuna hot dish and watered some flowers.
Not much by normal standards. Pretty good for most of us.
More than I usually do at any rate.

Or did I make the tuna dish y-day? It all blurs together as
the photographer said as she smeared Vaseline on her lens.
Why did she do that? Cause she had forgotten to bring her
    soft focus lens.

Granni, I suspect you are right. Sam's doesn't have
dressing rooms because they are trying to minimize
shoplifting. But actually no dressing room is necessary.
    Just ask Lindsay Lohan.

Gee, it's been quiet the last few weeks. We haven't heard
anything about her or Charlie Sheen.

    I'm with you. I haven't heard "It's raining, it's pouring, the
old man is snoring" for ages. Half a century probably.
Do kids still say the things we did decades ago, Teacher?
Like "I see London, I see France. I see someone's underpants"?

Nowadays it would be hard to walk in public w/o seeing saggy pants.

Julie, I hope you are feeling better. What good is all this
scientific advancement in medicine if we can't afford it? When
I was a kid the dr. would make a house call and charge $3.
Cost $1.49 to fill the prescription.

Is Clinton of German heritage? We had a Clinton Ewalt
in my home village. Ewalt is German. Clinton is from the
English and refers to settlement. My Norwegian ancestors
were named Harstad. "Sted" meant place. The place in
question was their farm called Harstad.

When my son was small we used to go play in the rain. I let
him splash in all the puddles he wanted. And we visited
the supermarket (which was closed) and I gave him a ride
in a shopping cart through all the puddles.

He was all bundled up and wore his gramma's old tennis
shoes, held on w/ rubber bands. All followed by a warm
    bath, of course.

Springwater, Chiropractor rhymes with "Why Grow Tractor".
It's a Greek "ch" as in Christmas or orchid.

I guess under the mullberry tree would be the appropriate
    place to mull.

Took Dad to his doc this morning. She removed 20 cc's of fluid from his knee, gave him a steroid shot and sent him home.

Told him to contiue the treatment from Urgent Care and to call her if anything new popped up.

He's back home snug as a bug in a rug.

Nope, some of our kiddie sayings are gone. Some because no one has thougt it important to teach them because we're "better than that". Some because it doesn't fit anymore.

    For example:

I SEE LONDON, I SEE FRANCE - doesn't fit because everyone walks around with saggy pants - or low-riders that show the top of your undies - or tank tops with straps so narrow and low cut that you see bra straps, bra tops, and bra sides - or sheer tops designed for a tank top underneath worn as is with a matching color bra, on purpose

YOUR MAMMA WEARS COMBAT BOOTS - doesn't fit because in the late 80's/early 90's females began wearing combat boots as a fashion statement - the rap scene has toned it down a bitto hiking boots as regular street wear, but combat is still worn - also the growing numbers of females seeing combat duty in the service - any reference to this actually causes fights becasue you're picking on Mama

Sometimes, my kiddies play in the rain. Sometimes someone will bring out a hose.

They LOVE the days when it's really hot and someone breaks into a fire hydrant. They go get their swimsuits and towels. Takes about an hour for the fire department to get there, so they make hay while the sun shines.

Making hay would have to be explained. They don't know what hay is.

Sometimes I feel like an idiot when I come up with these things. They don't get it and I have to stop whatever and explain it. It makes a bit more sense after that, but the point still goes over their heads.

Mom would let us play in the rain as long as there was no lightning.

She'd also turn the hose on us in the evenings. She'd sit with an apple and flick her wrist occasionally. Then we'd dry off and she's send us to bed.

Speaking of playing in the rain.

Does anyone know someone who isn't smart enough to come in out of the rain?

    hee hee hee hee

    Ah well. Memories.

Gotta get back to work over here.

Did dishes last night. Doing laundry now.

Supposed to be cleaning the bathroom, but I'm talkin' to youse instead because it's MUCH more fun.

    Speaking of fun.

Glad you made it back safely, Goatie.

Julie, I'm sorry you're so sick. I hope you feel better soon.

Move over. Spring. Me and my book are coming to join you under the mulberry tree. Rock and Granni are comin' too!

HERE WE GO 'ROUND THE MULBERRY BUSH
THE MULBERRY BUSH, THE MULBERRY BUSH
HERE WE GO 'ROUND THE MULBERRY BUSH
    SO EARLY IN THE MORNING!

Just finished eating lunch after line dancing and shopping with DH. I need to get off soon to wrap the big pkg. of hot dogs that we got in Sams. Need to wrap them separately in servings for us. The wrapping is a pain though.

Teacher - I was going to come on before to tell you or whoever posted about the Mulberry Tree I had never heard of a Mulberry Tree just the Mulberry Bush that you spoke of in the rhyme. I remembered that rhyme also word for word. Guess you didn't get to house look this weekend yet !
Yes, sitting under a Mulberry Tree of bush would be good to just relax and read or have apicnic if it wasn't so darn hot here. Not evern sure they have those kinds of Trees or bushes here in the South.

Julie - I hope you are starting to feel a bit better but I know how long those things can last. Also hope you got some cheaper medicine also. You need lots of rest. Did they give you an inhaler? You might have needed one if you had pneumonia or bad bronchitis and wheezing like I did. I also got a steroid shot but I really shouldnpt take the run of the mill decongestants with hi b/p.

Drop a short note when you get to feeling better and have the time.

Rock - I'll bet you can aremember lots of rhymes and riddles from your youth. I probably could remember most of them, at least the rhymes. I'm not always that great at riddles.

SW - Hugs to you, my dear. Hope you still have some NRG for housework and other fun things..

Hope everydobby else is doing well.

    Love,
    Granni

We had a mulberry tree AND a mulberry bush in our backyard.

We also had a grape vine and a strawberry patch.

My parents did away with all of the above because people would come into the yard during the night and steal.

After the fruit was gone, they still came/come in the yard. They took/take mom's roses.

    Oh! alomost forgot!

Supposed to spend most of the day out looking tomorrow. This will be good espeicially since it's only supposed to be in the 70's again tomorrow.

Julie - Glad you are doing so much better. I agree that dentures for your dad is very important. After my Mom broke her hip for the 2nd time and she had hip fx surgery she was doing pretty well. Then somehow her dentures disappeared either on route from hospital to the Rehab. facility or had legs as many things seem to do in the hospital . Anyway they could not find them. Well, as she ate less and less she just gave up. Her mind was wonderful at 93 until the end came. The longer they eat and keep strong the longer they will be around.

Teacher - You surely sound like you are bright and chipper this morning with jokes and all. My mind isn't that well at that time and sometime during the day too :)!!

Spring - Hope all is well with you today !!

Just wanted to pop in for a bit before I start my day. May have to run to the store with DH later. He wants to get new golf shoes for Father's Day and maybe I will pay for part of them :)!!

Hugs and love to everydobby ! Will try and come back again later.

    Love,
    Granni

Teacher – the kids don’t know what hay is..hahahaha. That’s about true.

Lets Rock, Granni, me and you hold hands and skip around the mulberry tree.
Set the inner child within us free. Except the nosey neighbours might call the cops.
I don’t think they will think it’s a pretty sight.

Did you get any househunting done then? Good to hear your father got
Attended to and is resting at home.

Georgia – good to hear G’pa is coming home soon. See what he says. Be cool.
And don’t say anything that you might regret afterwards. Its so tempting to
Just holler and scream ones pent up frustration and anger and then regret
Afterwards. Ive done that with my own DH.

Granni - Not one of my best days today but Im still getting up very early and
Getting more done than I used to. The exhaustion is a tad more today than
Last week. You have been busy with line dancing and shopping and wrapping
Stuff; I think you’ve been doing pretty well. At least productivity wise. Is
Your body ache a bit better?

Rock – all those things you did, pretty productive I say. Today I had to skip
To avoid puddle after puddle on the roads. It rained and there were great
Big pools of muddy water on the road. One part of the road where I got
Off the microbus reminded me of Moses. There was a thin strip of road
Down the middle and on both sides water water water.

Julie – good to know your mum is responding to the meds. And that
You don’t need to take antibiotics. Who knows but this latest crash
Is your bodys way of saying ‘rest’?

Well, today I went and made a visit to my Chinese friend coz I felt like
I needed her company. She being always on the go. And she was.
We talked a lot. I caught up with a lot of what some common friends
Are upto and I updated her on some of the towns goings on as I
    Heard from my DH.

Then I went to the boutique where I had tailored my party blouse because
I found the neckline was too low the last time I wore it. The tailor being
A muslim was doing his namaaz (his daily prostrations) in the shop so
I just waited outside since it seemed intrusive to stand and watch.

Gave the blouse to be altered, and then I bought two chocolate doughnuts
For my son and came home very tired. Collapsed.

    Tak care all

    God Bless
