Julie: Are ya gonna be involved in the Iowa Caucus thingy? I'm
thinking that I'm experiencing "burnout" and I've a Poli Sci
degree! It's all so old already. Does the Church allow peo.
to bring Devil's Food cakes? Just wonder?

Linda: Sounds like things are under control. I'm sure that you are enjoying having your parents "home" for Christmas. So sorry that the Holiday contains sadness in the death of a Friend.

Yea Carla: I plan to go to the 'Lil Guys Grandma's House down
on the Peninsula for Christmas Eve dinner. She's a nice Lady
and Her 86 y.o Mother will be there as well? I'll try to be-have myself and be of good manners. SIL is having Christmas Dinner the next Day, so gonna have ta rest up for a
    few days after.

My Son is flying to Oregon to have Xmas wiff His Mother and Sister. He came by today with a couple of presents and to
say goodbye. Gave me a velor-like comforter blanket that I
can throw over myself while on the recliner. Also an electric cup warmer so I won't have ta re-heat my coffee in
the Macrowave oven! Good thinking Son!

Well Kids, gonna go back to wrapping presents as "time is of
    the essence"! Right Rocky?

Sounds as if the Mid-West is havin' some bad weather! Concerned that my "Wife's" Husbands Daughter may be experiencing trouble getting our of Missouri for Her flight
to Oregon. She is a very lovely young lady. Hope She is in
Oregon by now. My Son was to fly out from SFO at 8.00 a.m. and
the sky here is crystal clear. He will email me upon arrival.
Travel has changed greatly since "Lewis and Clark"!

Oh Linda! That Prime Rib sure sounds good to me. Every New Year's Day, Glide Memorial Church here serves free Prime Rib
Dinners to the homeless and poor. The meat is donated by "The
House of Prime Rib" Rest. I think the last piece of prime rib
I had, I cut out of "Gourmet" magazine! Furthermore, I been
waiting for our "Buffalo Boy" Tim Russert to come on but my
T.V. was evidently Rockies Computer in a different life. Turned it on ten mins. ago, still no sound or pic! Eventually it pops on only to near scare one to death! It was 20 dollars about 4 years ago and it's on constantly as
you know, I'm a politico! CNN, MSNBC and FOX ifin' I need
a little humor in my life that day! Oh, didn't know that Chief Justice Roberts is a Buffalo native. Breyer is a San Franciscan.

Well, gonna redo that Coffee and get it back on my new warmer! "Talk" ta ya awl later!

to all of my porch friends. So much to do and not able to do very much. Maybe next year will be better....think I have said that for the last few years but I must have faith that all of us will be better and hopefully it will be before next year.

I am especially grateful for my daughter who has picked up my slack. She has turned out to be a wonderful hostess. My son will be working for most if not all of the holiday. It will be the first time in his life that we will not be together on Christmas day.

He is a mold and water remediation specialist and there is a large Ralph Lauren distribution center that got a large water damage a couple of days ago and he is only getting a few hours of sleep each day. I am really proud of him. He is managing the entire project and doing a great job. It is such a shame that the company will destroy all the goods (jeans & shirts) with very little damage other than water to them. Wish they would give them to Good Will or someone in need but company policy states all product has to be destroyed. What a shame!

Linda....I am very sorry about the death of your friend. It is especially hard during the holidays.

Again I want to wish each of you a Merry Christmas and hope that each of you find peace, happiness, and the best health possible during this special time of year.

Ifin' you remember Christmas last year, I was to sing a solo

at mid-night Mass, THE MESSIAH. After weeks of practice

though, I just couldn't get a HANDEL on it! I got replaced

    by a pre-recording.

Granni, glad you were able to perform above my level!

A special Hello to 1Sweetie who is all that Her name implies.

Hi to Lacey and Linda as well as all my other Friends busily

getting ready for the big Holiday. Get out tomorrow and

be sure to spend, spend and spend. Gotta hit that 1/2

thrillion dollar mark in sales ya know. Don't what to dis-

appoint sales expectations! Get out there and do it, "K"?

Could someone give me a brain for Christmas-I lost mine.

I wrote the post below in wordpad, after losing some in the black hole I usually do it. So I wrote my post, thought I posted it and went about dinner, cookies, did tricks and treats with the girls, watched the news. I have been trying to set up Microsoft Office Business email and can't get it to work. So I popped over to the porch and my post was gone! I was sure I had done it. Went into my profile and nope not there either. Then saw the wordpad and realized what I had done. Silly girl, lol. So read on if you wish - Merry Christmas

Hello everyone is busy getting this and that done, it all smells good and Linda I think I shall fire the jet up and take you on the Prime Rib, hmmm - my favorite.

Sweetie glad to see you drop by and so sorry about your son missing Christmas. That is awful that all those clothes have to be destroyed but that is business.

Joe I am sorry you didn't get to sing your heart out, maybe you and Rock can go on the road and finally do your stand up act.

Rock what's cookin on your coast?

Lacey wave as you go across the river. Hope you get lots of good stuff

Granni still goin like the energizer bunny.

I was doing pretty good then decided to take the girls for a ride/walk. I just turned to step up in the cart and ouch when my back mucsle down arounf L5-.pulled. I tried to stretch it out and did ride and walk, then raked out my ditch in front of the house.

I paid good money for a underground drain for beside the house, but it is a swamp now. The front ditch was stopped up and it doesn't have a great slope anyway, so the leaves had to go, now I have a little creek.

I am getting ready to bake me a batch of 9 cookie :) while I figure out what I want for dinner, it will be a box of some kind.

I am then going to have to give the girls a bath since we are going to see granni and the other people at the nursing home. Some of the aids and nurses love it when I bring them. Twy got loose the other day and had a good time, but I just toweled her off knowing I was going to bath them today.

Then mio gest a long whirly pool- I think I'm going to need. I just got up to put a log on the fire and it was not good-eeehwowoooooo. How can you pulled a mucsle with such a simple movement???

My electric bill was another reason I didn't go to PA- it was drum rolllll pleasee.......$167.00 It usually is around $100 more or less. So I have been burning the fireplace for a few days. It heats the whole house and will run you off the couch if your not careful.

Merry Christmas to all Jodie, Marta,Dakwaters,Gardengirl, and everyone that may be peekin in- Carla

I hope this finds everyone doing well and had a good day of memories, better write em down if you did, you know how things can slip away.

I went to see mom and it happened her freind Theda came by at the same time. I had talked to her yesterday and she was going to spend the day with her boyfriend.

I guess he said some things she didn't like and sent him home. So we went to Ponderosa for Christmas dinner and that place was packed. That was my second trip in less than a week. They had prime rib, hmmmmmmmm it was so good.

I really like Theda, they have been friends since the 3rd grade. So I have known her all my life and enjoyed our dinner then came home and gave the girls a ride, no walk for me today. Took a few muscles relaxers and the 3 of us crashed on the couch for about 2 hours, that is a rarity for me. The back is ok as long as I don't move, lol. Really it is just getting up is the worst, once I am vertical it is better.

Happy Birthday Jodie-sounds like your cookin up a storm there, glad you will have a good day with freinds and Cody.

Joe- hope you enjoyed the lil guys and had ear plugs for all the toys they make now days. They don't like em unless they make lots of noise.

Granni glad your show when well, are you going to try out for that new tv show about chiors?

Linda hope your enjoyed your dinner and slide me a peice of pie please. I was really POed that Pondrosa was out of my fav bread pudding both times this week. I love the sauce they serve with it, didn't even see pumpkin pie-so i had apple cobbler and ice cream with a side of brownie. Should have taken that walk- oh well.

Darkwaters did anyone buy you a warming blanket to keep you toasty. I had one once and loved it, loaned it to a old friend and never got it back. It's ok I have a nice fire in the wood stove going, I won't have no stinkin $167 electric bill next month.

Did you know preztles were made in the 1600's? I am watching NGC about how snacks are made, every interesting, now I really need something to eat- Merry Christmas all and to all a good night-Carla

I had a very nice Christmas with my SIL and Her kids and
grand kids on the SF Peninsula. (My Nieces, Nephews and
Grand Nieces and Nephews etc., etc. etc.! As per usual, they
showered me with gifts that were appreciated but overly generous! A new jacket, gift card and lots of $$$. Oh boy,
Oh boy! Prime rib, smashed potatoes, salad and green beans.
    So good!

Did Christmas EVE wiff the 'Lil Guys, their Mom and Dad, Grandma, Greatgrandma etc. I've met them all b-4 so it was
a very comfortable and enjoyable time. Boy's each rec. a new
bike from Santa amongst lots of other good STUFF. I gave them
picture(s) of myself that I had reproduced at Walgreen's. They
always give me pics of selves as gifts that I always treasure. The pics of ME are in a frame (one in back of the other). The front pic I'm 5 y.o, middle I'm 8 y.o and the
back one I'm about 12 y.o. As they get older, I do too!
Mom and Dad loved it! The Boy's thought it was pretty special. (I think)

Spoke with my Son,Daughter and Former to wish them a Merry
Christmas! Cold and wet in Oregon but they were all warm
and dry, having a great time. Son will be flying bac tomorrow morning to return to work that eve.

Happy B'Day Jodie as well as to Cody! Hope the operation
is "pain free" and of ultimate success.

Linda: Sounds as ifin' ya had a great Christmas with the Family!

Julie: I'll bet you are looking forward to that warm weather
of Belize after the past few weeks! It's gonna feel good
    for awhile.

CK: The 'Lil Guys actually were much more mellow than I ex-
pected at Grandma's House. It's fairly nearby to Stanford
University so one must attempt to maintain somewhat of
a noble "presence". It's the West Coast version of an "Ivy
    League" school ya know.

Well, gotta clean house today. Hope everyone is able to
slow down a bit and rest up after the Xmas rush!

    Hi to all your porchies,

Had a very busy day yesterday with people coming in and out and having to feed people at different times. it was nice ecven though my legs and back were killing me last night. Just a little better today but I have a sort throat but a little bit better, DH has a runny nose so he is "suffering" althought seems to b doing alittle better till the OTC meds wear off. He expects to symptom less immediately !! Had a nice time tough. No surprises on the gifts from DH since I helped topick them out. Also alot ws stuff we are buying for the house.

The big surprise was that my divorced daughter is now engaged. Some of us were told but not those who were not there or didn't stay long enough to hear the announcement. She got a lovely ring but there is not rush which is a good thing. I am sure it will be at least a year and maybe longer than that. There are so many things going on with her younger sons that live with her and and her crqzy hours at work, etc. I am glad, as he is so good to her and is good for the boys. Wonder how the older grandson ( and her x) will take it. The young ones will be thrilled - Jake 6 with leukemia and Corey 12 with Learning Disabilities.

Today I did a little shopping, not to much. Tomorrow I need to start cleaning up this place and putting away some of the Christmas stuff at least the tree ornaments. I would leave it up longer but DH says it is over so why keep it up. My mom used to leave it up till Jan 6th (little Christmas) I think it was called in Europe I believe. Most of the mess is with the tree even though that is a fake one with lights alraeady on it. I would keep it up till New Years . Oh well, I know I also need to vaccum tomorrrow too. I would rather just go take a nap (-: !!!

Sounds like everyone had a good time. That is great. Don't have time to talk to everyone personally or I can't remember who said what as uisual (-: !!

Forget when Julie is going in her trip, sometime in Jan. I believe. Sounds great to me. I could use soe heat arund here even though Ido not live in the cold country like Linda, Joan, and CK and some of you others.

Just wanted to ssay hi to all and hope everyone is just trying to relax a bit now after the big day before trying to pick up the pieces.

    Bye for now.

I do have a question for our house nurse. Why is it that my back/glut muscle hurts more laying down and sitting up, but I am able to dig a freakin ditch full of muddy water??

The body is a strange thing. But I have been using 2 lidoderm patchs, then a nightly whirlly pool.

That is all I have done is worked in the stinkin mud for 4 days. I had 1-3 inches of water standing between my house and the hill the girls use. They buried the side pipe to deep when it connects the front ditch, plus the ditch was full of leaves. But the front ditch needs to be deeper and more of a slope. This was something I started on over the summer then other things came up, now with all this rain we have had, it really is a big problem.

Jodie I'm glad Cody came out of surgery fine.

I'll be gone for a few days, work at the shop, the ditch then the foundation wants a list of all the people I have had contact with and I am trying learn Microsoft Office Business Outlook. Then I have to enter all the info for each contact. This was a project I had planned on while I was recovering from surgery but the art thing took care of that. Can someone please clone me????

Julie- I hope you have a safe trip to Belize and get some rest in between, you have been threw enough lately.

Mrdad-Rock-Granni-Darkwaters, Garden Girl, Lacey, Joan and anyone else I can't think of right now- I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year-Carla

it only gets better the older we get...

cody is home today...kaiser hospital gets on my nerves so badly....they gave me this fancy don't have to wait in line for your meds cause you have a discharge patient...an hour and a half later i finally get the darn meds...they tested my nerves.

cody had an allergic reaction to something yesterday or last night...first he told me his i.v. was really itching...the nurse said he only had saline in it...but i know they gave him some antibiotics before surgery...

well then he had the morphine pump...then vicodine...he said he felt better after he got out of the bed sheets he said that he thought they may have washed them in tide laundry detergent...

but when i turned on my warming seats in my car he turned it off and said it was making the itching worse...

i tend to think it must've been a medication he had..

well sorry so many of you are having those storms...it is only raining here right now..beats the snow and ice it guess.

everyone enjoy your day...i need to clean up the house..
