The surgery for my brother-in-law's oral cancer began at 9:00 am. The procedures ended 16 and a half hours later.
There were a few glitches, but on the whole the surgery went very well. He did have to have the jaw on that side removed and replaced with a steel plate and a bone fashioned from his leg. How they do all this is too amazing for words.

For all the experiences people on this board face with miserable doctors, I have to say that Bob's three doctors are caring, compassionate, informative, skillful and accessable.

He will be kept sedated in AICU for two days until the swelling recedes and his breathing tube can be removed.

But the best report of all is that Bob told my sister he has accepted Jesus as his Savior! Thank you Lord, for your faithfulness. Our family has been praying for his salvation for twenty-eight years! Praise You Jesus!

Thank you all for your prayers,

Its so good to hear the surgery is over and went well. 16 hours, gosh what a long, long ordeal. I`m so excited to hear that he has accepted Jesus in his life.

May Jesus and his angels be by his side as he begins his recovery. I also pray for your family, for strength and comfort.

    God bless,

What a wonderful praise report, I love to read them! He took Jesus Christ into his heart as his Lord and Saviour!

I am so happy that he has great docs too. I had some pretty awful ones for years. It was by chance aquaintaince that I got ahold of a low income doc myself, who is very caring and understanding!

    God bless you and all!

I agree it is amazing what all these doctors are able to do, I'm so glad that his surgery went well. I will be praying that he will have a speedy and complete recovery.

    Many Blessings to you, Judy <a href='' target='_blank'><img src='' border=0></a>

Thanks for the update. That is really something how they can rebuild the body like that. I pray he continues to heal.

That is such wonderous news! I did not pray for his salvation, strange, as I usually do without being asked.

I am so happy for you, and for him.

Tell him 'welcome into the family of the Lord'!

Will continue to pray for his speedy recovery.

    Shalom, Shirl
