My close friend prayed this prayer for me over the phone.

I felt so understood and cared for , because it speaks so much in detail of what we live through.

I hope it may comfort someone, and that they might feel understood too.

(The prayer continues for five of my posts, because of difficulties in posting, whewww:))

"We pray with special love and concern for all those who are ill or infirm, asking the Lord for his consoling grace to strengthen the sick in times of trial.

Lord, be close to give your comfort.

When pain or distress is overwhelming:

When the healing process goes slower than hoped:

When terrified by treatments or therapy:

Lord, be close to give your comfort.

When it's hard to let go of long-held plans:

When the feeling of alienation arises:

    When worn out and weary:

Lord, be close to give your comfort."

"When troubled by impatience and negativity:

    When loneliness adds to anxiety:

When sickness makes it difficult to communicate:

Lord, be close to give your comfort.

When discouragement or despondency sets in:

When fear makes it impossible to face the future:

When the ravages of disease attach self-esteem:

Lord, be close to give your comfort.

    When anger and resentment assail:

When beset by worry or fretfulness:

When it's hard to rely on others for care:

Lord, be close to give your comfort."

"When envy arises toward those who are healthy:

When pessimism or cynicism holds sway:

When anguish is intensified by the need for reconciliation:

Lord, be close to give your comfort.

When sickness is mistaken for punishment:

When loved ones are far away:

When sickness causes financial hardship that leads to worry or despair:

Lord, be close to give your comfort.

When afflicted by the feeling of nothing to hope for:

When weakness makes it impossible even to think:

When friends draw back, fearful of disease:

Lord, be close to give your comfort."

"When illness makes those who are suffering moody or irritable:

    When it's difficult to sleep:

    When there's loss of appetite:

Lord, be close to give your comfort.

When there's resistance to necessary change:

    When tempted by denial:

    When nobody seems to understand:

Lord, be close to give your comfort.

When bound to home or when restricted in movement:

    When listlessness and apathy threaten:

When medication seems to make things worse:

Lord, be close to give your comfort."

"When all that is needed is a caring touch:

When it's impossible to maintain familiar routines:

When it's hard to find the strength to go on:

Lord, be close to give your comfort.

When it becomes difficult to pray:

When suffering of any sort becomes hard to bear:

Lord, be close to give your comfort."

    Amen.

    Beautiful! Thank you!

Believing that God is always there for us, even when it seems we are alone, is, in itself, healing.

    Love, Mikie

Nanie, Springwater and Mikie, Thank you for your beautiful comments.

I read and pray this at different times - whoever wrote it understands so well what we deal with.

Just seeing it written makes me feel less alone.

May God bless and help and comfort everyone here on the boards. And bring brightness into your lives!

    Love, Judy

Correct yourself in the Lord everyday. Takes about ten minutes. I start with my brain and say Lord correct my brain and it's functions; my spine and the discs; my muscles, ligaments and tendons, etc. Get a diagram online of the body and correct all your organs. It works miracles!!! As pastor l lead my church every Sunday after my message in a Correction service and my church has enjoyed great reduction in colds, flu, etc. We start with the brain and go from there. As Paul said do things in " order. "This was revealed to me me over many years not easy but finally it all came to me! PTL

Have been gone for quite a long time. But good to be back at PH, and see so many familiar people.

I'm praying a section of this prayer each day for everyone at PH, for all the varieties of our difficult experiences in illness.

Dreamous123, glad to hear that prayer has helped you and people in your church.
