    Hi Everyone,

Thank you sooo much for your prayers and good wishes. I truly appreciate it!

My appointment yesterday went really well. My Rheumy is taking me off of the Arava and is starting to taper me off of the Prednisone. She is encouraging me to see the pain management specialist next week. She feels that some of my pain as of late could be due to an overload of the prednisone and Arava and since the Arava isn't working anyway, she's taking me off of it. She is encouraging me to go ahead and get a hot tub. She had written a prescription for it about 2 years ago, but I have waited to get one because of the cost. She is encouraging me to get a sleep study done since my husband says I "vapor lock" during my sleep. lol

I also have had blood in my urine the last couple of visits for which I was given antibiotics. It told her some of those symptoms are back, so she is sending me to lab for full culture. If only blood is present then she wants me to see a urologist to rule out interstitial cystitis (sp?). She said I could have that going on because of my autoimmune problems.

As far as work goes, she said to keep taking care of myself, use FMLA as needed. I told her I only have about 3 weeks of that left. She said to check into short term and long term disability. She also said to start the medical retirement paperwork. The goal will be to see how I respond to pain management. If I respond well, I will be able to work but she and I don't see me working full time for another 6 years, so it would be for long enough to pay off bills, etc.

Also, in the meantime, I had called my gynecologist to see if hormones could be an issue and he said it wouldn't be causing what is going on with me. He did, however, cut my dose of premarin down by half, because that is what he does with "ladies my age." Good grief!! Made me feel old, hehe!

Anyway, thanks again so much. I plan on taking it easy today. Tomorrow my daughter has all of her wisdom teeth taken out so I will be taking her and caring for her. Poor thing, I wish she didn't have to do it.

    Hugs to All,
