I talked to my psychiatrist and internist today. We upped the Lyrica to 150 twice a day. Neurontin is at 600 x 3. Upped the Cymbalta to 30 x 3. Switched from Xanax to the new Klonapin wafer that's sublingual so will act faster than the old Klonapin, but longer than the Xanax. Stayed at 20 mg of Ambien. Yea, I know, not typical to prescribe that dose, but we do it. And insurance does pay.

I have chose to discontinue narcotic pain meds as they seem to only cause more problems than relief. No withdrawals. I wasn't taken them often enough for that. So I'm fine there.

I talked to her about Xyrem. She thinks it's a good idea, but she can't prescribe it, so she's referred me to a sleep specialist. The one that we KNOW uses it, is not on my insurance, so prayers that I can convince the one that I CAN see, to let me try it. Please keep me in your thoughts. :)

Will be happy to pray for you.

That's a lot of med. changes to go through all at once.

    Is not sleeping your problem?

Tonight is prayer night - if you want to put this request on the prayer thread, then you'll have a lot more people praying.

Lots of great prayer warriors here! :)

I hope you get to feeling better, and that you get in to the sleep specialist that you want to get in to see.

I know that I wouldn't have any trouble sleeping if I took Lyrica, Neurotin, Cymbalta, Klonopin, and Ambien. I get awfully fatigued from taking these type meds and think I would probably be asleep all day if I were on these at the same time!

I hope a new sleep specialist can get you on the right meds that you need.

I'm scheduled to see the sleep specialist on the 23rd. I could have gotten in on the 16th, but I'll be out of town. :) Cross your fingers and keep the prayers coming. They're going to get the records from my prior sleep study at a different center, so maybe they won't make me do the sleep study part again, and realize it's not apnea. I hate that that seems to be all they care about! They don't seem to get that the problem is NOT apnea, it's insomnia, that my psychiatrist (two actually) have tried to treat for almost three years now. :(

The fibro pain is improving. I'm hoping the increase in the Lyrica and the increase in the Cymbalta will help more. I've been on Neurontin for ages, and never any pain relief from it. I take it as a mood stabilizer as I'm also bipolar and have migraines. It's also possible that with the increase in Cymbalta and Lyrica at the same time I might get some improvement in sleep. Too early to tell. :)

Thanks for being so welcoming to someone who doesn't post often.
