Does anyone know a good disability lawyer in or near Philadelphia that handles private disability insurance (like Unum Provident)?
I was an Emergency Room physician for eight years but could no longer do that because I developed fibromyalgia and bipolar disorder. I'm doing occupational medicine because it is less demanding but am having trouble with those demands as well. But at least the office isn't that busy. I see about a patient an hour. However, now the hospital is closing my office and I'm not physically able to work in another ER or in an internist's office where they make you see a patient every 15 minutes. I applied for disability but they denied it, in spite of excellent doctors' records of my limitations.
The job I was working was really only 20% of what a normal physician would be expected to do, so yes, I can do 20% of a real job, but I can't do more than that. Does that mean you can't get disability?
    Thanks,
    Lisa
