I have read that putting powder under the tongue was the best way to take GABA but I tried this today and it seemed to burn. The formula I take has colloidal silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate. I emptied capsule and took approx. 300mg.

What is recommended dosage and proper way(s) to take?

Has anyone used this to replace neurontin/gabapentin for nerve pain?

I would start with a much smaller dose, maybe 100mgs. There's a product out there by "Now" vitamins, called "True Calm" has the co-factors that help gaba work better.

If you have nerve pain, I would humbly suggest googling "benfotiamine". It is the fat soluable form of thiamine (vitamin b-1) and has helped a lot of folks with neuropathy of all different types.

There's a main site that sells it that has tons of testimonials, but you can buy it on many other sites.

    Just my two cents!

My naturopath recommended pure GABA because I get headaches from taurine and inositol even in small doses.
