Well I finally went back to the rheumy today first time since last July. I didn't like him much last time but I did this time. Weird. Maybe I had pms last time I went. Anyway, he gave me Prozac. I was on it a long time ago for depression and it helped a lot. But I wasn't in a lot of pain then. News to me he said it's listed as a specific treatment for fms in medical journals. Anybody else on here using it and is it helping?

It helped me within 6 hours of taking it and that was 10 mg. After a month I went up to 20 mg. and have been on that ever since. It helps my pain so much. I wasn't depressed so I don't feel any different in that department.

The first med I tried was Zoloft and it made me feel much worse.

Also since Prozac I don't have those constant headaches anymore. The med has been a miracle for me. I'm thankful that it comes in generic. My copay is only $10 for 30 capsules.

Hope the med will help you. :)
