Hi All, I have found so much info here and am now puzzled again,so here goes. On June 13th when I got out of bed I had a sudden back pain, which by mid-morning was so bad my husband had to take me to Dr. The pain is better but after it finally eased up my left leg is numb and I have severe pain constantly. It is located in area near the hip bone and groin. They did x-ray and said massive arthritis and now did MRI last Tues. Got results yesterday and they say my spine is compressed and narrowing. He wants me to go to anethesiast for some kind of shots. All this was told to me over the phone and I don't see him till the 12th. This has really got me boggled. I am so upset he's let me go this long. Can anyone tell me what you think about this or has anyone been in this shape. Thanks Terri

My doctor just took me outta work indefinitely for Spinal Stenosis with nerve impingement and bulging discs, and joint arthropathy. Spinal Stenosis is narrowing of the spinal column. He probably wants you to have epidurals or steroids, don't you think?? I wasn't told to do that, but I was put on Oxycontin routinely and Oxy IR as needed every two hours. This has made it more tolerable, but I have to take 3 or 4 of the IR's now. Daily routines are causing the pain to return often and I am only without pain for a couple of hours during the day now. Any type of driving hurts as does even being a passenger in a car. I was offered a neurosurgery consult, but I really don't want to think about spinal surgery. I am 47 and I have a LOT of other issues. I think I'll just cut my losses, take the pills, rest and pray.
I hope you'll be OK...feel free to write me anytime~~I know this pain and it isn't easy to live with!
    Love and empathy,

Thanks Kady, I think you were the one to help me when I read your post last month about MRI and your symptoms sounded the same as mine.I have been having constant pain for 6 months and its the pits. I take lortab, the highest dose and it barely touches it. If I do to much it really hurts. I'm just like you about driving or going anywhere. Is there a cure and will this get worse. Did a GP or specialist diagnose you. Thanks Terri
