I have been reading alot about using magnesium for constipation and I was wondering if you take several capsules at once or just one a day until something happens. I have magnesium citrate and its 170 mg per capsule. I don't really know how much is too much or not enough. Can anyone help? Thanks

start with one capsule. Do that for a week.

Then increase by one capsule until you have bowels that are too loose. Then drop back by one.

That is working up to bowel tolerance. 800mg is a high dose, 400mg is about normal. My mom can take 1200mg and still not have loose bowels.

    Hope that helps,
    Marti

I'll have to try the celery. I'm on two types of BP meds and my pressure is still not under control all of the time. I will definately be taking more magnesium too. Thanks for the info.
