question ssi benefitsin florida

    my wife has been approvedfor ssi and i thought you got 552.00 per month I do work but am certian that we are under the guide lines. Theuy say that you get the amount according to your income I am stumped with this and want to find out how to compute my income to find out what we will be getting please help me with is. thanks dave ASAP please

    hopefully someone can answer this. Maybe you could call a lawyer? Or maybe you could call SS?

    My very limited understanding is that SSDI is for people who have worked the required number of quarters, which then qualifies them for SSDI.

    SSI is for people who don't qualify for SSDI (maybe they never worked, maybe the didn't work long enough), but are still disabled.

    I *think* SSDI is based on how much you've put in, and SSI is based on your household income.
