I´ve been on transfer factor 4life for almost four months now (have been upp to nine capsules aday, now taking six). I still havn´t noticed any improvement. When I started taking them I got terribly dizzy (like being on a rocky boat, not the usual dizziness and brain fog) and tired. Also got nervous and edgy for awhile. The dizziness and extra fatigue got milder after about a month. This herx differs a bit from an earlier one I had when killing off candida, then I also felt very warm with rapid heart beat.
Question - how long have you been on TF and what improvements have you noticed, and when did you start noticing them? What was your herxing like?
The TF I use are just plain transfer factor, but I don´t now exactly what kind of pathogen I have, so… According to two different naturopaths I have some bacteria in my upper respiratory system and possibly lungs, but no viruses or yeast.
I´m thinking of trying rife to terminate the bastards (if I can find out exactly what pathogen I´m dealing with), but am afraid of extreme herxing. Anybody tried rife?
I get soooo tired of dealing with these bacteria. Why don´t they just give up and go somewhere else (although I don´t want anybody else to catch them). I first found out about the bacteria one and a half year ago from a naturopath. Then I started eating loads of garlic (like one whole garlic a day), and after three months they were gone. I didn´t feel any better though, which might have been cause I lacked potassium at that time. But then I stopped the garlic and the bacteria returned (or some new one entered my body). Don´t want to go back eating garlic again, since it makes me so worn out (could be because garlic lowers blood pressure and blood sugar).
I´m still hoping the TF-therapy will pay off. But would be nice to see some progress soon! Am so tired of being tired…

I have never heard of rife, sorry about that. I didn't herx much in the beginning. Not like some of us. I can barely remember what it felt like but it just lasted a few days.

Now after 10 months I am developing nausea and some skin burning which I believe is the TF since that is when it "kicks in". Also, I have had a lymph node on the left side of my neck start hurting.

IMHO, people who get on TF early on in the illness have a much easier (shorter) time of dealing with the pathogens. I have had the DD for 18 years. Maybe the TF has found a pocket of pathogens that it couldn't reach before and that is why I am herxing after all these months. I don't know.

I had some wonderful months and I am not as bad off now even with the nausea/skin burning.

There are other things that do attack the pathogens, Olive Leaf Extract and some others. Tansy and others know alot about those.

I do hope you get some relief soon. Yes, we are all sick and tired of it all.

Hi, I personally would use the TF...but find out what the bug is? Bloo tests by dr. who can detect titers for you...and mycoplasma, search on the web to learn about. They now have TF for that too.
But, use olive leaf extract...use a good kind. It is wonderful. Do a web search on it. The lungs will clear end healthy energy will come back.

Yes, I bought an expensive Rife machine over a year ago for $4000 and it didnt help me at all!! It didnt kill off herpes, like they claimed it would. Fortunately they found someone to buy it from me so I sold if for 2800 and made some of my money back. (I never had any herxing at all with the Rife machine, never felt any difference. Tried it religiously for a year and it was top of the line machine) Some people report great success though, but I decided to get on Valtrex for the herpes (I break out on my backside in the sciatica nerve). I dont think the rife machine really destroys viruses, my opinion, but I was very hopeful and openminded, but based on my experience, it was a waste of time and money.

You are able to take so much more TF than me. Ive been taking TF Essentials for 6 weeks and just hit overload on taking one capsule every two days. I get sharp headaches, tiredness, spots in my eyes, some rapid heart beat. But I am sensing an underlying strengthing. I can only explain it as a better sense of well being, a desire to get up and go. But I have to modulate the detoxing by not taking too much TF until my body is adjusted to it.

In my opinion, it doesnt matter what the TF is helping you fight, you just know it is helping the immune system get rid of something!!

P.S. One more thing, I tried garlic capsules on three separate occasions and thought I was dying. It lowered my blood pressure so low I couldnt feel my heart beat at all. Very scary. For me, I wont touch garlic except the real stuff to put in my salad dressing, but not the capsules. It scared me.

I have a zapper which really helps kill off pathogens. You may want to go in for a diagnostic rife treatment which identifies the pathogens present.

You can use a zapper in its "one size kills all" mode or order inexpensive cards which will cause it to put out frequencies specific to each pathogen. I bought mine from the Hulda Clark website for $150. It is very well made and it works.

If I use it for a longer period of time or more often than normal, it will eventually cause a Herx Effect. Also, it cleared up the fungal infection in my toenails. Almost as soon as I started using it, I started to notice healthy pink nails with almost a line between the old discolored nail and the new pink, healthy nail.

Zappers can only kill pathogens in the bloodstream and not deep inside tissue, but eventually, stealth pathogens kill their host cells and must enter the bloodstream in search of new cells to infect. Consistent use of a zapper helps.

    Love, Mikie

    Thanx for all your replys!
Spacee – interesting about the burning skin and nausea. I got irritaded, burning skin, aching sinuses and nausea after taking TF for about two months, but at the same time I started taking collodial silver, so I thought that was the reason (it might be both). I quit the silver and the skin is practically normal now.
I went to a homeopath a few weeks ago who did some tests, and she found bacteria in the upper respiratory system, a high IGA-value and elevated antigens in the body. The IGA apparently means that the mucous membranes and skin are reacting to some kind of allergen which could be the bacteria (I´ve had problems with the mucous membranes on and off for almost a year). She thought the burning skin was due to the abnormal IGA. And as you could expect the cellullar part of the immunsystem was lower than normal.
I really dont mind herxing as long as you know that it´s making you better, but this thing is so complex so you never really know whats going on in your body. Sometimes I wonder if the TF has some side effects that are making you worse. It seems strange that you herx for such a long time (much longer than from other remedies).
I think TF 4life is weaker than the other brands. You have to take more capsules to get some effect. Recommended dosage for chronic infections is nine to twelve capsules. Maybe three capsules of 4life equals one of the other products.
    Good luck using TF!

Herbs that can help treat mycoplasma, viruses and other pathogens.

Olive leaf extract is good, I find it particularly helpful for viral infections, it is said to prevent replication, and it really helped me when I went on it for an extended period.

Raintree Nutrition make a product called Myco + which contains the following herbs

    Brazillian Peppertree
    Urva Ursi

This product is recommended by Garth Nicholson and other specialists who treat mycoplasma. If you check out Raintree's sites you can access extensive info on each of these herbs. It's often chosen as an alternative to long term ABx use, anti viral meds and if TF does not suit it may be a viable option for that too.

Another herb of note is wild oregano oil, this is effective against all kinds of pathogens and can reduce the pain caused by inflammation as well. I have c & P some info for you.

    Oregano Origanum vulgare (Family,Lamiaceae)

This is a useful oil. In addition to its well known antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal properties, oregano oil is warming and assists improvement of circulation, digestion, mental clarity and alertness. It relieves muscle aches and pains and assists in increasing physical endurance and energy. It may assist in reducing cellulite.
Oregano oil is used internally, to infiltrate the body with oregano's antiseptic, painkilling, and healing properties.

The fungal fighting properties of oil of oregano are supported by research led by Harry G. Preuss, M.D., professor of physiology and biophysics at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. The study, which was published in the journal Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, tested the efficacy of oregano oil against the fungal infection Candida albicans (better known as a yeast infection) in mice. The study concluded that "the daily oral administration of oregano oil may be highly effective in the prevention and treatment of candidiasis." Furthermore, the findings of two studies presented at the annual meeting of the American College of Nutrition held in Orlando, Florida, revealed that oil of oregano is just as effective as pharmaceutical antibiotics at killing bacteria."

Additional research led by Dr. Preuss tested the effects of the oregano oil on the common bacteria staphylococcus, which is becoming more drug-resistant and is the culprit in many infections. One in vitro study compared oregano oil to the drugs streptomycin, vancomycin, and penicillin, and found that it could inhibit staphylococcus ( strep throat ) growth as effectively as pharmaceutical antibiotics.
Studies performed by researchers at Cornell University, with results published in the March 1998 edition of The Quarterly Review of Biology, found that oregano inhibited every strain of bacteria they tested it against. This list included Bacilus subtilis, Listeria monocytogenes, and two strains of staphylococcus. With anti-fungal and anti-bacterial abilities like these, it is easy to see why Business Week magazine said in its Oct. 22, 2001, issue that "oregano could turn into the next wonder drug." Researchers at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) have determined that herbs are higher in antioxidant levels than fruits, vegetables, and even spices such as garlic. Oregano has 3 to 20 times higher antioxidant activity than the other herbs studied." Oregano has 42 times more antioxidant activity than apples, 30 times more than potatoes, 12 times more than oranges, and four times more than blueberries.

Oil of oregano is also a powerful painkiller. An article published in Phytotherapy Research describes how oregano oil superseded anti-inflammatory drugs in reversing pain and inflammation and is nearly as powerful as morphine as a painkiller. As published by Sarer, researchers describe its antiseptic powers as remarkable. The Cure Is In the Cupboard, by Dr. Cass Igram, explains many more uses and goes into detail about the proper dosage for each use. As Dr. Cass Igram states "There is one thing you MUST know: Oil of Oregano KILLS GERMS AND PAIN.......ANY KIND!!!
