Identify this handsome critter.
Do I get a prize for guessing what it is NOT??? LOL
My guess: it's not a leopard. Sorta looked like a leopard, with the spots.
I'll have to do some googling later, after I finish my chores.
Good luck all!
I think it's a Serval. Googled to check my guess and it looks like it.
Yes, Diane, you get a prize for not guessing it was a leopard. (It's also not a
spotted hyena.) And Patti gets the Big Prize (it's behind door number 3) for
correctly identifying the serval.
What would be a good prize, Patti. A Minnie Mouse dress with polka dots maybe;
and a matching bow, of course.
Servals are medium size cats (up to about 45 pounds) which live in Africa. They
hunt small prey; have terrific hearing, and can catch birds in mid air. For more
details see Wikipedia or http://www.servals.org/wild.htm.
They are no threat to people, but people are a threat to them.
Heaven forbid I dress like Minnie Mouse in front of a big cat - I don't want gobbled up, thank you very much. Haha.
Let me have door number 2 instead. I'll try for a car all taxes paid.
Here's another link with videos included. Ran across it when I was trying to spell Serval. Took me three tries.
The second video of the three is great.
I'm headed to watch the videos.
Opens door two OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH!!!
What kinda car wouldja like, Patti? A jaguar? The Ford panther? Mercury made a lynx.
Also the cougar. Somebody made a Cheetah, but I forgot who.
Love the serval videos. Those kitties look so sweet and cuddly. Although according to
the narration, they are not suitable pets. Maybe I will send a modest donation.
All depends on whether or not I can remember to do so; find their address; locate
my checkbook; and summon up all the energy to do that along with the necessity of
addressing an envelope and hunting up a stamp. But we here all understand how
that goes, right?
A nice array of photos, Soul. Hope nobody here suffers from trypophobia.
