If you've been recently diagnosed with anything, you might want to take a look at this page - you might be able to donate some blood, make some money doing it, and help research. No experience with it, but hopefully it will help someone make some extra $$ towards paying their doctors or for their meds etc:

If you have been recently diagnosed with an infectious or autoimmune disease, please call SeraCare today.

Your plasma donation is urgently needed for research, and a payment of $200 or more per donation will be made immediately, to you or the charity of your choice. Multiple donations are possible.

If anyone's had any experience with this, let us know? Thanks.

Got your "Hi" message from Laurie. The photos made my day (in a sick kinda way :)

I have the D antibody because of the Rh Factor from my pregnancies. Before I got sick with CFIDS, I used to donate plasma to make the gammaglobulin shots to prevent this in mothers with the Rh problem.

BTW, going up to Atlanta for Thanksgiving. It's been a couple of years since I've been able to go. Looking forward to it.

    Take care.

    Love, Mikie

That was nice to do, Mikie. I think it's good that these companies are willing to pay tho since the blood is being used for research for their products (hopefully) that will in turn make them money. Also gives incentive to those who are so ill, I think.

LOL I have a weird sense of humor, what can I say; not all friends understand it...

"Usually" it's really nice still around Thanksgiving, but, you never know. For several years running after we initially moved there, it was in the 70s for us at Thanksgiving; I finally got my parents to come for the 4th Thanksgiving and that year we had snow flurries! LOL....
