I was wondering if that has anything to do with FM or is something unrelated? I have been to the skin specialist and he wasn't sure what the cause was. it does stop itching for a few months at a time then flares up again. has anyone else have this problem?
    Take care everyone.

This is something that has bothered me for more than two years and literally drives me crazy. I started having what was determined to be an allergic reaction to leather tanning products on the top of my feet which seemed logical because they were broken out and itching in the same area that the shoe hit my foot. The dermatologist gave me a ointment to use twice a day.

The bottom of my feet didn't seem to be related to the tops of my feet because leather didn't touch them and it looked different. They cultured it for athlete's foot but it was clear and I was told to use same ointment as for the top of my feet.

I had minor flare ups with it over the next year but thought that I had it cleared up when I was out of work the first of this year after having surgery. When I started back to work, the problem started again. Now that it has gotten warmer I've started wearing the "plastic" sandals I was told to wear. Now they have made dry, itchy patches where they touch the top of my feet. The bottom of my feet get so dry that they itch, peel and crack. I keep surgical glue and waterproof bandaids with me all of the time.

If anyone has any ideas, please pass them on. I've tried everything. The minute my feet hit warm water they itch so bad that I scratch them raw. I know I shouldn't but it feels so good.

I'm not sure if that's the correct name. My son's school sent home a notice that several children has this -- I think it's a virus. One symptom is rashes on the soles of your feet. Maybe someone else has more info?

My son has peeling and redness (not sure of the itching) but he is in the Army and has fungus that he battles with.
it comes with the combat boots!

This is a virus common in kids, or if you've been around kids, even touching the hand rails on shopping carts! You will have red spots that itch intensely on soles of feet, possible red blisters/ulcers in mouth of inside of cheek, hands can be red & itch. High fever is possible. Nothing you can do except wait it out. Is highly contagious.I missed a week of work when I had it (I worked at a daycare, so by DCFS rules, I couldn't work. Was in awful pain anyway) If by chance you do have the mouth symptoms, my doctor told me to mix liquid Benadryl w/ something like liquid mylanta. Swoosh it around in your mouth, then swallow. Helps w/ mouth pain. He also gave me narcotics for the pain. The mouth was extremely painful. Hopefully, this isn't what you have, but is fairly common, However, lots of Drs have never seen a case unless they are GP's or Pediatrics. Good luck.

To me, this sounds like a fungus.

Different types of fungus present in different ways, but this sounds like something which would commonly be called athelete's foot.

However, sometimes, I start to itch uncontrollably and ge the red feet, or get it other places.
