"Isaiah 28:11-12

(11)For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

(12)To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

These few words remind us of a spring of cool water because of their renewing quality. The frequent use of today’s text has an invigorating effect.

Sometimes, after a busy day or even in the midst of exacting activities, stop and say these words over to yourself and note how they dissipate weariness and refresh the body, mind, and spirit.

The best method for using these words is to say them slowly, emphasizing their soft quiet melody. At the same time, conceive of peace, rest, and renewal as coming to you."

Heavenly Father, right now I just give you praise and glory for giving us that wonderful gift of life through your Son, Jesus, and just pray that You would be with each thought and prayer request represented on this Board right now. There are so many needs and so many hearts that need rest from troubles of life, and I just pray that You will just meet each of those needs where they are through your will -

I pray for Chris's friend, Sue, who recently lost her father and is caring for her mother. Sometimes it seems that too much sorrow rains down on some . . yet we know that you only allow what we might bear. We just ask that you will provide that wonderful comfort to Sue that only can come through your Son. Lighten her load and lift and hold her close to you.

I would also remember Lisa, who has so much pain. May her pain be lifted as she looks to you for guidance. Father, help her find the right path so that she may be refreshed in you.

For all those other requests, the ones written and the ones that are silent, you know the hearts of those on this board and the intent of those hearts. May we be your vessels of truth and love in this world. May your light shine in our lives. We give all of what we are back to you and ask that you use us in all our frailties for your glory and honor . .

In Christ's name I pray these things.. AMEN!!
