    Good evening my friends,

Well, went back to the sleep specialist today. NO apnea. However, I'm still not sleeping at night. He gave me a prescription for Restoril.

I hope it works. I'm not happy about having to take another pill...but, if I don't sleep soon, I am going to have a breakdown (and it isn't going to be pretty).

The Requip is working well. I was still having minor jerks and twitches, the doctor increased my dose. No more jerks/twitches...except when I feel really stressed out.

    Wishing everyone happy dreams tonight.

I take 15 mg of Restoril plus 25 mg of Benadryl most nights.
It works well, however is not quick acting.

I think it takes about 1 1/2 hr for it to put me tosleep. It is also great for anxiety the next day.
I alternate with Ambien and the Benadryl.
The drug info on Restoril says it has less chance of tolerance but I still rotate to Ambien every third night or so.
I sleep as long as I can and get up feeling fine.
    You will probably
like it better than Ambien but don't expect it to work fast. (it might be different for you??)

I was put on 15 mg Restoril 13 yrs ago because I was just not sleeping. My CFS doctor said that no healing can take place without sleep so I agreed to try it. It really did help me sleep and has pretty well ever since.

Every now and then it stops working and I try something different but then it kicks in again and gives me a better sleep than I have had with any of the other drugs I have tried. (I tried more natural methods too but they just didn't do it for me.)

I had to go up to 30 mg quite quickly but have stayed at that dose all these years.

Thanks pvlady, pepper and sisland for responding. I took it last night...it did take about 1-1/2 hours to work..although I felt a little loopy after 45 minutes.

I still woke up a couple of times, but I hear that's normal for the first night or two.

I'm glad its working for you! I hope that I have the same results. I am feeling pretty good these days, I know if I could just get some good sleep--I would be GREAT.

    Thanks again,
    Dawn
