To those of you who were kind enough to want to learn how my visit went today. As follows. This doctor is really sweet BTW.

Because of the number needed and size etc. he has scheduled for me to have this done at the hospital instead using US guided needle.

One of the nodules is nearly 2cm so he is a bit concerned that other docs have been letting this "go".

So I am scheduled to have biopsies done July 6th and will post then.

I did discover something today though I wanted to pass on as I know many here have Hashimotos-people with Hashinotos are 80% more likely to develop Lyphomas. He also said to absolutely have Ultra Sound yearly without doubt no matter what FP says. I think he thought my FP had been shoddy in not ordering biopsies prior. He also said any new nodule needed biopsy each time.

Gosh I wish all docs were like this one, (he is ENT) he is so kind and nice-looks about 18 but is older.)

I will let you know after July 6th then. Keep praying!

Well, this doctor certainly sounds like he knows what he is doing. I think that is comforting - that he is taking your issues seriously.

My endo's told me that the threshold for biopsy is 1cm - so if you have had nodules greater than 1 cm and they didn't biopsy, I would agree with your ENT.

My ENT (the one I got the second time around) is also a DOLL. Kind, gentle, and THOROUGH! He MRI'd the neck to confirm that there was nothing else going on besides the thyroid area.

I have two Endo's - the senior man, who is very nice and very busy and his resident who also looks like a "Doogie Howser". But he works in partnership with the senior doc - senior guy does not just schlep all the work onto the junior. I respect that as well.

With your other health conditions, it is absolutely the right move to be within the hospital itself to get the biopsies. This way, other specialists are available for consults ASAP, as is Pathology to classify what they get out of the nodules.

I certainly am praying that everything is just "big and benign" and if there is any question, they can just take out the trouble spots.

Oh, drag!! So sorry for the nerve-wracking delay, was looking for your post about it, and you'd think it was me, I was anxious for you.

So glad for the great doc. How unusual, lol, but seems like now you are in very good hands.

    Happy Independence Day all....

Will watch for results, anne, and will send white magic thoughts to you so all will be well...

    There's always hope!
