Has anyone here taken or is taking Robaxin? I was just prescribed to it last night and it seems to work for about 30 minutes after it kicks in. (This is going on my assumption that the medicine kicks in after 40 min). It doesnt seem to be helping my extreme shoulder pain. It makes it slightly better...and I mean EXTREMELY slightly. My question is, do you have to wait for it to build up in your system, like on the lines of how anti-depressants work, or does it kick in right away like a narcotic? I am on 1000 mg. right now and it isnt working as good as i need it to.

Sometimes it helps sometimes I can't tell. I recently went to a neuro Dr and she said it is not a true muscle relaxer, it works on the brain rather than the muscles.

He prescribed zanaflex and told me to stop the roabaxin because that could be part of my fatigue and cogantive issues.

I haven't noticed any major changes without it. The zanaflex does work but he only gave me 30 and I only take it a bedtime.

I hope you find something that works for you-Carla

Zanaflex does work for me, but this particular doctor is practiacally the spokesperson for Robaxin. I figured Id give it a try. When I go to see my new specialist I will request Zanaflex. The only problem with the zanaflex for me is that it makes me sleep. Atleast it works though.

    Take Care,
