    ------------------------------------
    Today's Scripture:
    ------------------------------------
"Shepherd the flock of God which is among
you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion
but willingly, not for dishonest gain but
    eagerly;
nor as being lords over those entrusted to you,
but being examples to the flock; and when the
Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the
crown of glory that does not fade away"
    1 Pet 5:2-4

All of us are leaders, but not all of us lead
    great crowds.
Sound like a silly statement? Think about it. All
    of us lead
someone at some time in our lives. We may lead a
    small
group of one -- a spouse. We may lead a larger
    group of
3 to 10 -- A spouse and kids. We may lead a wider
    small
group -- a bunch of friends who look up to you or
    the neigh-
borhood kids. A few of us lead groups of dozens
    -- employees,
Sunday school class, school class, unions. One or
    two of us
may even have a part in leading cities, counties,
    states or
    nations. But we all lead.

Peter urges leaders to lead - not by force -- but
    by example.
Most of us have been lead by both types of
    leader. We will
all agree that we are more likely to follow the
    direction of the
leader who is out in front -- leading -- rather
    than the one in
the back -- pushing! We will follow a good leader
    through a
mine field of troubles, but would turn tail and
    hike through a
battlefield before we are forced to enter that
    same field. Why?
The former breeds confidence -- the latter
    contempt. One
operates out of love and mercy. The other out of
    fear and
    intimidation.

We all lead, let us lead willingly as servants to
    those who look
up to us. Hallelujah, Amen and Amen

    ...for the scripture.

I appreciate your kind words to me on the other post this morning. Thanks! I will look forward to getting to know you better too as we both desire to share God's Word with others and serve Him through praying for others.

    God bless you!
