    Hi All,

I'm taking my pursuit of health to Washington DC for the next 12 months or more.
I'd love to hear about any great CFIDS doctors! I'm researching....
    • An MD (a home-base doc as it were)
    • An Immunologist (doesn't need to be ME/CFIDS specialist, but just good)
    • An outstanding TCM practitioner (herbalist, acupuncturist or both)
    • Homeopath
    • Reiki or energy healing

Probably won't see everybody, but it doesn't hurt to know who's out there.
So any of you DC, Maryland Virginia area folks--I'd love to hear from you.

I found one Dan Jaller MD, he doesn't take Blue Cross, but I will research and see if he's worth spending out of pocket.

    Hi Sue and Klcooper,
Thank you so much for your posts and suggestions.
I will look into the Maryland MD and consider Lerner.
I can't find a way to reply to this thread. [This Message was Edited on 11/19/2008]

I'm in Maryland, my doctors are Dr. Emerson Coronel, Internal Medicine, and my Rheumatologist is Dr. Victoria Shanmugam, at Georgetown Univ. Hosp.

They're both very good and believe in alternatives and not just pain meds since this is something we'll have to deal with for the rest of our lives.

Don't know where you are but you can look them up.

    Best wishes on your search!!

may i once again STRONGLY suggest being treated by dr. lerner? he takes bluecross too.

you haven't tried the antiviral thing for long enough to give it up. as far as i recall, you also haven't given valtrex a try.

dr. lerner has 25 yrs experience with this. he will come up with the right antiviral combination, but you have to be very patient. it will take longer than 6 months.

i also seem to recall your RNase L being very high...but my memory is not that good. if it is, that strongly suggests viral infection.

I'm going to check out Dr. Emerson Coronel.

And Sue, I will strongly consider going to see Dr. Lerner in Michigan.

    Thank you!

I called Dr. Coronel's office. The receptionist wasn't aware if he
specialized or knew much about CFIDS. Do you see him for your condition
or do you just find him a good GP?

He's a very good Internal Medicine doctor, no he doesn't specialize in it. I see the rheumy. at Georgetown Univ. hospital for the FM/CF. They believe in alternative treatments & meds since there's no cure and sooner or later we can max out on rx options. Sorry for any confusion.
