My second visit to the Rheumie doc is on Monday. Test run during my first visit was : protein electrophesis serum and sjogren's antibodies.

Any suggestions on other test I should request from the rheumie doc? I suffer more from CFIDS than FM.

A short & sweet list of recommended test would be helpful.

a mycoplasma test. I got my test from my rheummy, and he did find mycoplasma P. which is being treated w/ABX. It will be a long treatment process, but it is something they are finding in CF and FM patients. Good luck, Iggy

The doc will most likely order an antibody test from the local lab. This will probably not show anything unless your infection is active. Mycoplasmas can go stealth, living below the radar of the immune system. The only test which will reveal them is a PCR DNA test. Go to Dr. Garth Nicolson's website and read about it. I believe the Great Smoky Labs also do the PCR tests.

Don't be surprised if you rhumy knows nothing about mycoplasmas. Mine told me there was no such thing as chronic mycoplasma infection.

    Love, Mikie
