I spoke to a woman in 2006 when I became unemployed and she said she was a former SS worker and is now representing people who file. She wanted me to file then but I knew I had to go back to work since I was on unemployment and decided I would wait. Well I've worked 2 more yrs now and I'm getting worse. She's not listed under attorneys but listed under SSD as a SSD representative. What exactly does that mean and can she do as much as an attn can? She said something then, can't remember what, that lead me to believe she meant she would know more about how it works and what to do about it just didn't come right out and say it. Has anyone used a rep instead of an attn to apply for SSI/SSD and how did it go? I'm wanting to file for SSI right now.
