My doc just started me on singulair and if there are side effects my body will find them. Anyone had any experience with this asthma medicine? She also gave me zanaflex for those nights when I do not sleep at all? Does it make you groggy the next day? Thanks for the help. Leann

anything about sigulair but, i do take zanaflex at bedtime. It helps me a lot. If i have a really bad day i even take one during the day. At first they made me a little groggy. But as you get used to it ,its ok..I take 2 at bedtime usually and it does help me sleep for at least 5 hours. lol I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me.

I somstimes take up to four a day-the only time they make me sleepy is if I take them on an empty stomach. But I don't take them to help me sleep-just for muscle relaxent.

I was taking three inhailers...now I take one singulair a day and the advair disc 2 X day. It has changed my life.
My asthma is much better. I haven't noticed and side effects...but FMS gets blamed for all my problems. LOL
I used to take Zanaflex too...made me groggy the next day. I take soma now...works great. I've been on it for almost a year, not addicted or dependant. I have stopped taking it for a few days when my belly ackts up and was fine.
    Good luck

Singulair is an asthma drug, but because of the fibro, I experience so many weird side effects to new medicines that I wanted to see if anyone with fibro uses it. I have been VERY tired after just 2 doses, so tonight I will try to cut it in half. I am no longer wheezing, so it is doing what it's supposed to, but I can't see getting up for work tomorrow feeling like I do now! (I have enough trouble in that department already, lol).

but it's not here. I use Serevent and Flovent for asthma, and I've never used Singulair. I do take 8mg Zanaflex at bedtime with 10 mg Elavil for sleep. I didn't have any problems with grogginess from the Zanaflex before the Elavil was added, and noticed some grogginess with the Elavil only during the first week or two. But as we all know, meds affect everyone differently. I do know that if I take Zanaflex in the daytime, I may as well get ready for a nap!

But my doc is a CFS specialist, so maybe she thought the singulair might serve a dual purpose. I have heard that singulair also helps chronic headaches, but then, one of the listed side effects for singulair is headache. Geez. How is anyone supposed to figure all this out? (And I'm a nurse! LOL)
