Does anyone with sleep disorders find it hard to lose weight?

Yes, I have struggled losing weight and have put on alot of extra pounds since I got sick about 8 years ago. Last year I started getting my hypothyroid under better control, but was still not able to lose much weight. My husband had been telling me for several years that he thinks that I have sleep apnea. I went in for a sleep study and was diagnosed last May. I have been using a C-PAP since then. I started on Weight Watchers in January and seem to be losing at a much better rate than I did before. I have heard that untreated sleep apnea will put on the pounds. Underactive thyroid will cause weight gain too. I have been told that the weight is alot harder to lose than it was to gain from these conditions. Another consideration is that if you are on any anti-depressants that they may be causing weight gain. Also, I think most of us that have these disorders cannot exercise very much. I know that if I exercise then I better plan on a flare up that will last several days.
