She woke up AGAIN today with a sore throat and high fever. This is the second time in a month. It was strep last time and I'm certain it is again. She's 9. She's been getting sick a lot and having a lot of the FMS Sx. I don't want to do abx again but no choice. I think we need to look into this deeper. I'm a worried mommy.

Good luck with the little one. Hope you are giving her probiotics so she doesn't end up with candida too,

    God Bless you ,

I hope your little girl has a speedy recovery! It is such a bad feeling when you see these symptoms occuring in our precious babies! We know how awful this disease is and can endure whatever we must as long as our children stay healthy.

I too have a 9 yr. old girl and I think I AM a bit paranoid. Every time she has A SYMPTOM of CFS, I get worried. NO MOMMY wants to see their baby in pain!

I hope you quickly see a healthy trend in that LASTS!

Thinking of you and sweet little girl,

I have a 4 y.o. daughter, so I know what it is like to have a sick child. I hope you're able to get her in to her doctor and find out if it's strep and what to do about it. I can tell from your post you are a very good mommy, and I hope your daughter is feeling better soon.

Since she is only 9 and just had strep throat, I hope you are taking her back to her pediatrician. I agree that you need to look into this more.

I was always a worried mommy, and overly protective, too.

Hope she gets to feeling better soon,

but get her on the anitbiotics if she needs them and she will feel better in 24 hours...

and before you know she will be driving you crazy and you will be wanting a break.

I'll be praying that you get some answers to why she keeps getting sick...I'm sure you're taking good care of her! Love, Terri

She is home today. We started her on abx. She had some peppermint tea at breakfast and is now watching the sound of music. :) She likes the girl time.

Thank you for your support. I am getting more concerned. I just don't know where to start. I'm going to call my rheumy today and get some advice from him.

It makes me feel good to read your responses. Good to know others care.

I know exactly what you are talking about...

My son(he's 9) was sick at the end of Jan..took a Abx...The last weekend he spiked a really high fever..and my daughter(she's 5) had a fever too..I took them both to the dr. last Mon...He had strep..she had a fever so they gave her an Abx too..

Well my son got daughter..I gave her the last dose of the Abx Fri. morning..Fri. night she spiked a really high fever..I am taking her back to the doctor today..

I just don't get it..And these fevers are soo bad..Hers was 104.7..and I know it went higher than that at night cuz she was just burning up..

She is complaining of a sore throat and her ear hurts..

I certainly hope your daughter gets better do I hope mine does too...

Take Care of yourself...I feel like I am getting the stuff now..My head is all stuffed up..

I will be thinking of you..

Nice to meet you. I just read your bio. I think we would get along well.

I'm sorry that you can relate to my situation. I think we worry even more than most because of our own health. I want so much to spare my kids.

Anyway, thanks for understanding. I will definitely be sending prayers up for all of our kids. let me know how your daughter does - I would be concerned to that her fever spiked at the end of the abx

    Take care!

I thought the same thing when I read your bio..LOL

I am just jealous cuz you live somewhere warm...

Heading to the dr. at 3:00..She is now throwing up and I have about an hour drive to the dr. and nobody to ride with me..

How much can a person take...I am not being able to handle much right now...and my pain is sooo bad..

I used to have strep a lot and when I got it, my tonsils never really went down to normal size. Finally, at the age of 22, I went to and ear, nose, and throat specialist. He took one look at my tonsils and scheduled me for a tonsillectomy. I don't think they do this much anymore but it was a miracle for me. I'm 41 now and have had strep one time since then (last year). I didn't even know what it was because I had gotten so used to NOT having it anymore! Maybe you need to take her to an ent specialist. Oh, also when they got in there to take my adenoids out, they were gone!! They had disintegrated! Gross I know.

Well I took my daughter to the dr...

She thinks she has strep..she didn't want to test her for it cuz of her already throwing up...

Also...She has thrush!! She must have gotten it from the last Abx she was on..

    I can't win..

She was doing better tonight..but now she had diarrehea..but she actually ate some things..

How is your daughter doing?? I hope she is better..

    Hi Sofi
Looks like your in az, so thought i'd share. i'm in the se corner and strep seems to be a problem here with some kids. my oldest daughter would always get it and clear up then come back. my younget never seems to get it. i have a friend with 2 kids and same thing only it's her youngest that has th problem with strep. funny our 2 kids that share the strep trouble also share the same exact birthday (sept). we deceided thats the culprit! my daughter is grown and living in WA state and hasn't had strep or fm yet. yes it's so hard when your children are so sick hope yours is better soon.

Sheryl - Isn't is frusterating?! My girl is doing better but is still home from school. She's on the abx and I'm hoping it does the job this time.

I'm trying to get the probiotics in her too but it's a challenge because she's such a finicky eater. I'm actually mixing them into a bite of icecream (could be counter-productive but I'm desperate). She has the white tongue, etc. I think the abx have taken a toll on her.

Jech! - Yes, my girl is a Sept baby too! How interesting. My boys have not struggled with strep at all yet (knock on wood). Boy the bugs are really going around in the schools. I almost don't want to send her anymore. I'm seriously considering tutoring her for the rest of the year to give her system a break.

By the way, being in AZ, have you found any support groups around here?

My daughters birthday is in Sept. too!! But I live in Illinois!

    That is weird!

depending on the area you're in u might find support groups. tucson, phx area do have them of course. 1 of the fm letters comes out of tucson. we had 1 down here years ago but i never seemed up to going. that's the problem with trying to have a support group for fm we're not reliable show ups! i'm in siera vista (southeast corner)are you close by or the other side of the state?
Also on the strep isn't the Sept connection funny.
