    As I age I find my needs and wants are few....If you could only pick 5 what would you put on your list. Here's my about the rest of you?

    #1 strong coffee with cream (preferably Starbucks)
    #2 a glass of red wine in the evening
    #3 my daily fix of ice anything dark chocolate
    #4 A good book to read before bed
    #5 My favorite muscle rub to help me get thru the day

    I think I thought of this because of all the changes in me over the years. I'm 67....used to have a little antique business because of all the "stuff" I had collected, things I absolutely had to own. I'm now at the point in my life that I find so much I have is unnecessary so I've been giving things to thrift stores.

    So much of my "life plans" didn't work out also. So I don't need the special dishes for parties that didn't happen, don't need a ton of bedding anymore since there is only two of us in this house. Don't need all those cookbooks I collected since I can go online now if I feel the need to cook. There were big changes in my life since FM and ongoing pain hit.

    Jam.....what did your friends feel they needed? I'll bet they're all going thru what I am.

    Diane: You definitely sound like a cat person. I've always had cats from when I was a child, then my children had cats, then I got talked into two kittens when my grandson was 3......that was 6 years ago. Our last dog died a few years ago and don't want another dog......much more work than a cat.

    As to no one posting on this.....I don't think many people come to the chit chat board. Years ago this board moved incredibly fast.....big change.

    On a macro scale, I'd wish for:

    * Peace in the world, not just an end to war but brotherly and sisterly love between all people, including people right here in our country.

    * An end to illnesses and diseases.

    * An end to poverty.

    * Sharing of resources among all countries.

    * Tolerance of different lifestyles, religions and sexual orientation.

    On a micro scale, I'd wish for:

    * Financial security.

    * An end to my illnesses.

    * To continue to live in my beloved condo/neighborhood.

    * Hot coffee in the morning with my newspaper.

    * Good books to read and good TV to watch.

    Love, Mikie

    Lately, I've been online when I can and just in a "hit and miss" style until I'm through dealing with things I've been going through. And that's okay for us.

    As to things I can't do without:

    1. My cats as they are a blessing from God;

    2. The woman who comes to help out at a reduced price and has done so much (she's from a local church and is another blessing);

    3. Cat toys. There's nothing funnier than a cat toy being hit into the room and a cat chasing after it like that cat were a Nascar race car. Start your engines.

    4 My neurologist. A truly wonderful doctor that keeps up to date on migraines and when he is injecting into my head, he will frequently tell me a seminar he went to and new things that he learned that are coming in the future and he keeps me so informed and I love it. Plus I love that he talks to me about this while he is doing the injections. And the injections do help the migraines. He is a fantastic and understanding specialist and tops at what he does.

    5. My car. My car is little and special to me. The front passenger seat has a dog seat so that either one of my cats can ride with me. The windows are tinted and the cats enjoy that. My cat Shelby rides in the dog seat and when we stop in traffic, she will boost herself up and look out the window as if to see if there are cats in other cars. I tell her yes, they are in limos and that's why she can't see them.

    I've never, ever heard of a cat riding in a car willingly! You must have started her out as a kitten to train her.

    A shot in your head!!!!!!! That gives me shudders. But I'm sure it helps you. Does the shot help right away or what?

    Actually, I got my cats at 3 and 5 years old and they had been in a bad situation. So I slowly trained them to ride in my electric scooter basket, and then ride in the car dog seat.

    I take one at a time to go out and they wear harnesses, and the scooter basket has a nice small travel pillow in the bottom (to make them extra comfortable) and then a comfy cat blanket strewn all over the basket, so the cats find it very comfortable. They attend meetings with me and go in stores with me. They do NOT like cat carriers.

    I used to get occipital neural blocks in my head about an inch or two just behind my ears (larger needles) until I suddenly became very allergic to the lidocaine after several years.

    The neurologist has been trying me on botox for migraines and the injection points are very different than the botox for beauty purposes--the injections points are mostly in the head and I don't mind at all. My migraines had been very often and painful and we schedule before the prior botox wears off so those migraines don't return. It has been very successful for me over all, except during this past 3 months with the monsoon season and the two really bad sinus infections.
