Sore neck glands leads to sore tongue

I had a major flare on Saturday. It felt like someone had stuck a stake in my back and it was coming out of my chest. Together with that, I had a headache and the glands in my neck were sore. I always thought that the sore neck glands were the body's way of fighting an incoming virus. The neck glands are not so bad now, but the pain has moved into my mouth, with the back of my tongue/entrance to my throat feeling sore.

Does anyone else experience this? And what to do about it?

In a previous post, someone mentioned that I may have a yeast infection. I am currently on medication for that - could it be a reaction?
