    Hi All---

I have my phone interview approaching (next week) and I would appreciate any and all help that you can pass my way. I see from many of you this is not an easy road to go down and I'm not looking forward to it.
I am still waiting to hear from my LTD insurance and my STD is running out in a few weeks.

    Thanks to all!!!

    Hi Lin,
I too have my phone interview next week. This is my second trip down this long and rough road. I have learned from the last time of going through this though, or so I hope. Be sure to read over all the paperwork you were given before the interview. AND most importantly if asked give them EVERY single symptom and problem you are experiencing. Including depression, anxiety, etc.
I wish you MUCH luck with this. Hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones and get it right away.
    Best of luck,
    Joannie

    Hi Joannie,

Thanks for the information. How long have you been trying for?
I opted for a phone interview because my SSD office is too far for me to drive to and it is not in the best of areas to take public transportation by myself. It would just get me too stressed about.
    Good luck to you.
    Keep in touch!!!

i have been trying since March of 2001. I have not had the best of luck due to many things. Past work comp issues, and chicken poo Doctors as i call it. And my hearing with the Judge was pretty bad. I was considered by the Voc specialist there to be completely disabled and nothing in the work force that all my disabilities would work into. BUT the Judge was a jerk and still denied my claim.. Actually we have heard he was disbarred. YaHOO I hope that this time though things go much smoother and I can just it right away. Like a said though use everything okay. Best of luck..

I'm also having first phone interview 1/9 so appreciate all the info and glad to hear I won't need the details of symptoms until later.

My questions: 1) since you are allowed to make around 700/mo. and still be eligible, do you have to declare that income if it's from freelancing self employment? I make about 600/mo doing computer tutoring but that is even getting hard to do so I was wondering if I should even mention it because I don't know if I can keep it up. That income is reported yearly by 1099 so can they check on it if I haven't gotten any 1099's?

    2) I've sold our house and gone thru most of my savings now so I should be able to get SSI, right? If so, how long will it take for that to kick in...they say the wait is a month after filing but what do they consider the filing date? Is it the phone interview or the first time you call to set up appointment?

I realize the fight for SSD will take longer but my main concern is right now & how to pay the rent!!! My hubby gets SS retirement which isn't enough for rent, food & bills so I'm really hoping I can keep working part-time.

The stress of all this certainly does not help this DD so any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Hugs & Blessings to you all!

    Hi --

Thanks for all the information . I did compile a list of all my Dr.'s , their #'s and addresses.
Where do you get a cerified copy of your birth certificate? The Vital Statistics office in the town you were born? or the hospital?
All the records they will have to get from the Dr.'s .
I'm more anxious about my LTD, I hope to hear from that really soon. The jerk at the Dr.'s office (that I had knee surgery) really screwed it up so now my rheumie has to appeal it. I have to call next week and make sure he sent that letter out before the holidays. The holidays really messed things up a bit.
I'll let you know how it goes.

So, Joannie, what are we going to do, try to quit smoking?
