If one gets SSDI, how long can you be awarded? Is there a time limit?

I just went to the ssa.gov site a few minutes ago and happened to read about that. I believe it said that if there is a possiblity you can recover from your illness that they will review you every 18 months.

If there is a slight possibility that you might improve, they will review you every 3 years.

If it is impossible for you to recover you still get a review, but it will be every 7 years.

If they find at the review that you are recovered or able to work they can discontinue your benefits.

The ssa website is very informative. I just read a lot of it this evening. The site is www.ssa.gov
Hope my info is correct.....You know how our memories are sometimes.

    Ciao,
