I happened to catch the radio program Marketplace tonight. It had a segment on SSDI. It was a mixed range of news, opinions & comments (not all of which I agreed with), but it also included info on judges & how few cases are heard, etc. I've linked to the page below where you can read the transcript or listen to the program. I don't normally listen to the radio at this time of day, let alone a business program, so was surprised to hear this.

It was interesting, I also found some of the comments pretty informative as well. One was from a former SSA Judge.

Yes, but I was horrified to learn of judges who don't hear cases or hear so few, especially where there are so many waiting years & years for a hearing.

Why aren't there standards for the judges, say quarterly or yearly?
