ssris's(prozac, paxil) antidepressants, causing autoimmune...

    i read on this site and elsewhere, that ssri's for treatment of depression, esp. for eating disorders, but with cfids or fm..can lead to immune suppresion..and autoimmune illness..anyone heard about this or have cmments?..freaked me right out.. i was on it for a year or 2 before being in bed for 6 years! with cfids, then got fm..i really wonder if this was the start..the total burn out..now have addison's(adrenal insufficiency) and could die~!!

    Look for an article titled "Commonly Used Antidepressants May Also Affect Human Immune System" in the library of this site. I'm not sure that it will be there. It was written in January of this year. At that time they were not sure whether SSRI had an effect on the immune system or whether that effect would be beneficial or damaging.
