Right now, there are several used stairlifts posted on my local Craigslist. Usually there are none! I'd like to know if anyone has experience, good or bad with these models/makers.

One site advises against getting a model with a battery. The batteries are there in case of power failure, and continually recharged as the lift operates. The problem is that the lift can't operate without the battery in place, and supposedly the expensive batteries need to be replaced every year or so.

I have had a stairlift for 10yrs and love it. I'm still trying to find paper work so I don't remember brand.

I know Bruno is good. Mine doesn't have backup battery option. Instead of worrying about batteries what about getting a small generator?

If I find brand I'll post. Only thing I have had to due is have track regreased.
