Just wanted to share that I've started on the guaifenesin protocol with Dr. St. Amand. I am also following a hypoglycemic diet (low carb) at the doctor's suggestion. I just started taking guai a week ago, so I haven't noticed any "cycling" yet, but I'm sure it will come in due time (I hope!). If you haven't read his book, "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibromyalgia" you might want to at least glance through it to see if his program is for you. His assistant Claudia also has a book out about what to expect the first year with fibromyalgia. It was a pretty practical and informative book. My pain doctor also has a copy which he keeps for patients, but I'd already read it! I have more or less given up on my treatment from Holtorf, as after three months I didn't have any improvement. I hope to fare better with Dr. SA. I've had one appointment with him and he is a very kind, caring doctor who not only believes in his own protocol, but follows it himself as he has fibro too!
