I saw where a poster cautioned someone about using steroid inhaler with Lyme? Is there are problem using steroids and having Lyme? Specifically topical steroids?

Asthma steriod inhalers made my candida flare.

Oral steroids like prednisone blunt the immune system so the Lyme can't be fought off.

Small doses of hydrocortisone (less than 20 mg per day) are OK and necessary. If Lyme has messed up your HPA axis they are often needed.

I was also told topical steriods for eczema are OK. It's really the synthetic whopping doses of prednisone and Dexamethasone that are the problem.

Thank you both for clarifying that for me, I was wondering. I have used topical steriods for years. I have been struggling to get off them and it has been 10 loooooooong days. Am on a VERY strict anti-inflammatory diet. Am getting by without out, but it is VERY strict.
