Seems like the news about the Titanic never stops. Here's
the latest I came across serendipitously.

Sir Joshua Hellmann started a small grocery store in Liverpool
in 1847. It developed into a large import business, especially
of products from France like mustard, truffles and mayonnaise.

When the Titanic set sail in 1912, it carried 500 cases of
Hellmann's Mayonnaise. The ship was supposed to dock in
New York and then proceed to Veracruz, Mexico.

But as we all know, the ship never reached any port. The
people of Mexico, however, had been eagerly awaiting this
    new, foreign delicacy.

They were, in fact, so disappointed that a national day of
mourning was declared. Still observed to this day. Sinko
    de Mayo.

Heard this joke before? I post it every year (except when I

Well, you certainly can navigate your way around the internet better as I. It
was fun to revisit those old posts. Some good friends there who are no longer
on the board. Too bad; I miss 'em.

I read up on Toronto in Wikipedia. Says you and your neighbors are Torontonians.
Also says Toronto is Canada's biggest city; great place to live; expensive; varied
architectural styles; home to the CN Tower, which was for some decades the tallest
    structure in the world.

Spring reached Toronto yet? I lived one year in northern Minnesota. The
ice on Leech Lake didn't break up till mid May.

Just remembered. Some years ago Gordon got a catalog from a store in New
England that sold, inter alia, maple sugar candy in the shape of maple leaves.
Is this stuff popular in Canada?

Always good to hear from you.
