Does anyone have problems with FM effectingthe stomach muscles? If so...please tell me a little about your experience and the feelings. Thanks

I have FM, and developed IBS because of it.
I do get stomach pain a lot, and my stomach muscles aren't as strong as they used to be. In fact, my stomach is so "soft", not firm at all! Of course I don't do stomach crunches or anything to strengthen them.

But, yes, I have developed IBS and acid reflux because of my FM.

Did you see a Dr. for your symptoms or just treat the reflux yourself?

referred to a GI specialist by my primary doctor.

Then I had to have an upper GI and a colonoscopy to rule out other things.
Of course the prep for those tests weren't pleasant, but I had to have them done to find out if other things were wrong.

I was prescribed Omeprazole for the acid reflux and it does its job. My primary doctor prescribed me another med for the IBS, I'm sorry I can't remember the name of it. I don't take it much because it makes me sleepy. I also started taking Adderall for my FM, and it actually lessens the IBS symptoms! Crazy, huh? So I haven't had as much stomach pain since starting the Adderall, but still some pain and bloating, but not enough to make me take the med that makes me sleepy.

I'd suggest going to your doctor and being referred to a GI specialist, just to rule out all the other many ailments that could be causing your pain. It will be well worth it.

I only take the Lodine once instead of twice a day because of the way it makes my stomach area feel.
