For anyone needing to stop MS Contin, please find a doctor to prescribe Subutex. Subutex allows you to stop MS Contin, or any other opiate with no withdrawals.

Many doctors use it when the patient has developed a high tolerance to their pain meds. They are detoxed on Subutex and then the pain meds are started over at a lower dose, with better pain relief.

I stopped MS Contin using Subutex in May 2005 and never had a bad day. I stayed on Subutex maintenance for my fibro. It also relieves pain.

My pain specialist is in Torrance, CA - if you need to find a doctor near where you live - I am sure his office can recommend someone. He lectures all over the world about pain management.

(He is the director of pain management at Little Company of Mary Hospital).

thanks for that info. I take oxycontin and have now for 5 years. Im not ready to come off it but when I am I will tell my doctor about that drug. Is it addictive. Can you stop it cold turkey without side effect. Thanks for your input.
