Hiya all! Long time no see!! ((((hugs))))

I had a strange event happen the other night that scared the bloody hell outta my hubby and I.

I have had no side effects from it other then a bit of a stiff neck and massive head ache.

Anyhow we were watching telly and all the the sudden it felt like someone was in my head and kicked my brain where the brain stem connects. I felt my whole brain tip in my head!

My vision went dim as my brain went past my eyes and then rihgted itself. The room was going up and down like I had a bobble head!

I was wanting to know who else has had somethine odd like that happen and if they have connected it back to stroke? Its the only thing I can figure.

Weird thing is we have a bunch of hickanut heads for doctors in southern Ohio and so I need to figure out the issues before I go to them so I can demand certain tests done. Otherwise they tell me to loose weight and my life will be fine. Nutters.

So any help would be great! tytyty

I had an experiences similar to yours several times. The worst was last Sept. and I ended up at the ER at the advice of my neighbor who is an EMT.

I felt very strange, and had had a headache for several days. I was trying to fix something to eat and felt so bad I laid down on my kitchen floor. I had myoclonic jerks, and my pupils were dilated and uneven, I was very thirsty, confused, had difficulty speaking, my headache completely disappeared and I was in a state of "altered consciousness".

For 2 weeks afterward I had neurological deficits on my left side. I had a CT, MRI and EEG and all were fine. Amazing isn't it?

Sorry I have no answers for you and good luck.

    Shar

This is neuro territory....although I have to say that I've found neuros pretty incompitent at working out a diagnosis. However, it could be worth a try. I think symptoms like these need investigating just in case they are warning signs.

I have herniated discs in my neck (it is almost a miracle that the docs finally figured that out...but that's another story). I've had some disturbing symptoms, different from yours, but also involving vision, and was told totally different answers by 3 different neuros that I saw, and all were unwilling or unable to investigate.

Maybe you could try searching the net for similar symptoms. I once found a sight where you could write your symptoms, and a neuro, and others would give an opinion.

Good luck, I hope you manage to get to this sorted out.
    All the best.
    Robyn.

    Hi Brenda,

I've had 3 strokes in my life. Not fun but some of the symptoms I'd had are similar to yours. Mine were caused due to rare migraines. Not everyone has them and it's hard to diagnose. I went through MRI's CT scans blood tests, xrays, you name it! Finally had a really good Neuro who was a specialist in migraines and strokes and he figured out what they were. Haven't had some of those symptoms or any strokes in 10 years. Still have migraines and headaches but not as severe. Good luck.

Did you find anything out? Is the snow/ice as bad over there? We lost power for two days but thankfully have a generator and a woodstove. I think I'll stay in the house til Spring!

    Hope all is well,
    Tona
