The struggle for recognition-striving to be recognized in a recognition-less world. Imagine an urbanized and globalized world so engulfed in alienation that an individual feels she is merely a broken part of infinite machine. No intimacy in any of her relationships, she barely holds on as inequality and social barriers flood her life. In Upper Class early 19th century, these women discovered a way to express their frustration. Hysteria broke loose and upper white woman fell to their husbands grasps everyday. She may explode and yell about all her frustrations, but she is merely hysterical, so the rest will watch politely. When she returns to normalcy, patriarchy is restored. Now, in 2013, hysteria has transformed into a a more subtle illness, once which full of chronic pain. This is Fibromyalgia.
