I read two articles today about dangers of these drugs. They are finding that people on them have a higher risk of getting c-difficile(causes a type of colitis) and pneumonia and other health problems from not having acid to break down food properly. This leaves me feeling scared and kind of desperate. I have been on prilosec for a long long time.I have had Barretts esophagus from acid reflux. I have tried all natural products and diet but nothing works. I have also heard that reflux can be from too little stomach acid. This may be true but I also think that for cfs/fibro people it may be more from faulty valve or muscle. So what's my alternative to Prilosec? I guess there isn't one. Jess

Whenever one takes a drug the benefits and the risks have to be weighed. Perhaps in your case, taking the prilosec is the best choice. There is surgery but that's pretty radical!

Are you taking a good probiotic?

    Good luck
