I think that I have decided on having a lyme test done, but do not know where to even start or what type of doctor to look for. I am in the East Texas area, so if anyone out there is from East Texas and are being treated for Lyme or know who I might need to go to, please let me know. Thanks!!

They have been cracking down on Lyme Docs in the state of Texas. The great LLNP in Austin was forced to leave and now works in San Francisco where she is safe to practice.

If no one here is able to help you you might search out lymenet and go to the seeking a Dr. forum for some referrals. I have heard of a female doc in Lufkin I think but can't remember her name. I'm not sure if she is accepting new patients.

Hi, I live in west Texas. I went to an internal medicine specialist. I was tested for Lyme diseas. I have 2 of the 5 bands positive, so they told me I am a false positive. I have been dx. with fibro and CFS since 1997. The more I seek help from doctors, it seems the more fustrated I get, because they just don't know, or seem to want to help.

Please take your test results to another doctor. From everything I have read, your test may be positive, not false positive. Many drs do not know how to interpret results or use CDC criteria to interpret when the CDC never intended thier criteria to be used for diagnosing Lyme disease.

    Good luck to you!!

Well, I have recieved my Lyme test in the mail, but cannot afford to have it done right now. Go figure. So it is sitting on the kithen table and will continue to sit there until I have the extra money to have it done.
