    Dear Sujay,

I hope you don't mind if I post this separately. We have some people here who might well benefit from this knowledge.

    Dear Members,

This was in a reply in another thread, but it is so important that I though I would cut and paste it here. Since posting this, Sujay has identified the source of her info on this as the BBC, UK Edition, from 8/6/2003.

It looks like a pathogen that might be passed to humans from pasteurized milk has been identified in patients with Crohn's disease by some doctors at a hospital in London. It's called Mycobacterium avium paratuberculosis and it was found in over 90% of patients with the disease, and only ~26% of controls. Those numbers suggest it may be causative, but, of course, further studies are needed. It's thought it may play a role in IBS as well. Sorry I don't have the source for you, but perhaps someone else who's interested may be able to track it down.

Glad you've seen so much improvement. Hang in there!
