I have been awaken by a swelling and tightening of my hands. Is there anything I can do about this? Would a brace help?

Hi swimmer,...don't have an answer for you, sorry, but also have the same problem. My fists are clenched up and hands swollen also throughout the night while sleeping.

    Hi swimmer!
I also have SOME swelling but mostly PAIN.
Years back, I had surgery for *Carpel Tunnel Syndrome*
and THAT can cause the symptoms that I read here.
    Hope this helps.

    (((hugs!))) Josie

When I'm in a bad flare in my upper body my hands & wrists usually get into it too. When it happens, I do wear a brace, at least to bed. If it's really bad I wear it all day long, but they aren't terribly comfortable so I try to get by just at night when I need it.

    Sorry, that's all I've got!

    Take care,

You can pick up wrist braces at any drug store. I wear them when the numbness in my hands gets bad and it does help. I don't know if it would help the swelling but it might be worth a try?

    Good luck!
